To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:

Try this:

1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;

2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;

3) wait 30 seconds;

4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;

5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;

6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;

7) do a complete scan for channels again.

The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Susan Smith: It would help if you told us which transmitter you are using and what prompted you to retune in the first place? Did you have any HD channels before and which ones have you lost?

karen:

Do you know which transmitter you are receiving? A full postcode might have been helpful, but it's likely that there are several transmitters you can pick up at your location.
Which way is the aerial pointing eg. SSW, N, slightly E of N, or SW, etc. and are the rods horizontal or vertical?

You could try the following - unplug the aerial and do a full automatic retune, this should clear all existing tuning as nothing should be found.
Plug the aerial back in and repeat the retune which will hopefully restore all your channels correctly.

See Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for which channels are on which multiplex, and if you are still missing channels try and identify which multiplex(es) are affected.
Have a look in your TV's Tuning section for Signal Strength and Quality, maybe in manual tuning. Make a note of which UHF channels each multiplex is on and the strength and quality figures and post back those you are getting.

I have a new LG 32lm630bpla. On auto tune channels 106 to 114 are not registering.
I have plugged another TV (Samsung) into the Aerial socket and it works fine. The Aerial is about 1 year old and supplies 4 other sets in the house with no problems. I have reset tv and also run a retune with no aerial attached and then retuned. I have also all external devices Blue Ray player and the external HDD.
The signal strength/Quality for uhf 35 is 90 and 100. Transmitter Crystal Palace some 12 miles away.
Any ideas would be gratefully received!

Anthony W Peerless:

The HD channels you are having problems with are on the temporary COM7 multiplex. See Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for which channels are on which multiplex.

COM7 is transmitted as a Single Frequency Network (SFN) on UHF channel C55 from 25 main transmitters around the country and because lower power is used, signal strength at some locations is not as good and reception may have interference issues as the signal is not as resilient. This can result in the receiver having lower signal strength and/or quality which some sets don't cope with too well.

Surprised that the LG is an issue! However, you may not have all the same leads connected when you are trying the Samsung, so if you have any extra Flyleads in use with the LG and/or extra HDMI leads, check that the Flyleads don't have any breaks in connection (swap) or try reducing the number of devices between the aerial and set if you have PVRs connected to the aerial. Make sure that HDMI leads are kept well away from any aerial and flyleads, especially when those coax leads aren't high quality double screened types, as there are a few cases where HDMI can cause interference to C55.

Having checked out the lead situation, try a manual tune on C55. This can sometimes resolve the problems of it not being found on an auto-tune. Obviously reception of all multiplexes is dependent on location, but more so with COM7 and Local multiplexes.
Some web pages aren't up-to-date with the correct transmitter UHF channels, so for clarity -

In the order PSBs1-3, COMs4-7, Local multiplex, the UHF channels are as follows
Crystal Palace C23, C26, C30, C25, C22, C28, C55, C35 (London Local mux)

Some back ground info. There are 14 houses in my close built some 30 years ago (P Code KT20 5RS) none of which have external aerials. I calculate that my 2 year old interior attic aerial which has a powered amplifier attached with 8 outlets is 612 ft above sea level and that the transmitter is 18.5 Km distant. I am told there is a line of sight to the transmitter but have not been on the roof myself and at 83 I do not intend to try! At the rear of the house where the land starts to fall away towards Epsom Downs (the Grand Stand is just visible from upstairs) 2 houses have external aerials facing North.
This morning I tried auto tune with the same result. Nothing after 105. I then tried Manual tuning C55 as you suggested but again no signal. I then tried manual C35 and Voila! It found the missing 6 new channels which I have added to The memory. The guide on the LG is headed Freeview Play. I am not clear what this as opposed to Freeview. A disappointing introduction to LG.
Many thanks for your help

For the last 2 days all my Freeview Channels have started breaking up at circa 9am on both televisions, this lasts all day and evening, the channels are fine circa 07:30 - 09:00ish (can't be sure of exact time break up dtarts).
I receive signal from the Wrekin Transmitter, is there a problem?
