chris: The commercial muxes from Preseli are at 10kW power, whereas the PSB ones (BBC/ITV/C4/C5/HD) are at 20kW.

So there will be some viewers who are further away that won't be able to pick up the COMs but will get the PSBs.

If you supply your post code, we can look up your chances of getting the COMs on the Digital UK predictor.

Dave: postcode SA71 5HG.

I've got a weak Film4 after a retune through a goodmans digi box to analogue TV, but still "invalid channel" on my old type digital TV, despite both coming from the same aerial on the roof.

Don't understand muxes but after years of watching tv purely online, I regret now paying £300+ to get an aerial and set-up that is less than perfect!

Any advice readily absorbed, ta

Chris: Can you get the following: BBC1, ITV1, ITV3 and Pick TV?

For the ones you can get, what is the signal strength?

Sorted it! Reduced the amount of gain on my single plug amplifier in my living room. Only worked out this as my other set top box in the kitchen received Film 4 ok.

Manually scanned frequency 63 all channels ok now!

I hope this helps others!

The common thread in these posts appears to be loss of film 4 and associated channels. I live in central Birmingham and share the communial aerial, I have been without a decent reception on film4 and associated stations for nearly 3 weeks. A manual retune, with and without aerials and factory resets has not helped. Sony have suggested that the problem lies with the tranmission as my PVR is brand new. Can anyone offer any real help?

Film 4, ITV4, RT etc have disappeared for me too, near Colchester. I've wasting ages retuning everything several times, even reset to factory defaults. Reassuring to know it's not my set; I suppose we just have to wait till they sort the transmitter out.
