I have now lost all signal can you tell me what the problem mig
published on UK Free TV

The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

Also lost all Freeview channels 12 Aug and despite all advice from Freeview and other sources in respect of re-tuning / re-setting TV's , have been unable to restore signal. Had a TV engineer check all parts of set up from aerial to connectors and TV's x 2 (one LG the other Samsung, both new in last 2 years with built in Freeview), all ok.
Freeview suggest Mendip (live in Devizes) transmitter "is being worked on" but other sources say no works in hand.
Freeview's initial response was "high pressure" causing loss of signal ?! but now checking with other sources of interference such as local mobile masts which have recently been upgraded to 4G ?
Restore TV have offered to make enquiries with the possibility of sending a free filter ? which might help if mobile signal interference is the cause.
Any help from any source gratefully accepted! , fortunately we do have wi-fi and can watch catch up but not the same.

Well this is certainly a bit odd, but note, the previous poster is in a completely different region to you.
Mendip IS listed for Planned Engineering and has been for a couple of weeks, but there are no recent Faults currently listed, and the transmitter is working!

As I mentioned to the previous poster, have you check if a very nearby neighbour has also lost all channels?

"Freeview" can be a bit hopeless when it comes to technical issues like this. Whilst there is some Tropospheric Ducting around, weather conditions such as that, currently do NOT have a continual effect. It's been quite variable, comes and goes, affects some parts of the country at some instances and other parts at others.

As you've had an engineer out and no faults found, then the only "common factor" with you and the previous poster is most likely to be interference from a mobile mast that has recent had some 4G/5G in the 700MHz band switched on. It would be quite likely that such a "switch-on" may happen across different parts of the country at the same time.

I would certainly hassle restoretv.uk for a filter, whatever else they may say. I've come across a few cases where they haven't sent out postcards to affected postcodes when a mast has been switched on!!

Hi we had a planned power cut as NIE was working on the infrastructure and after they turned the power back on no tv signal. We have a booster which i've checked is working and tested with another one. Still no signal. Worked the night before and now nothing on multiple tvs. We live in BT25

Hmm, that's certainly an odd one as you say multiple TVs affected, if it had been one set I would have suggested checking the tuning.
It's possible the transmitter was still of air, have your signals returned yet?
if you still had no signal, do/did your neighbours have the same problem?

BT25 is a large area and whilst the main transmitter at Divis might be your most likely one there are some relays that you might use in some parts. Without a Full postcode, it's not possible to be more specific. The Dronmore relay is listed for Planned Engineering and if you are using that, it could be the reason for no signal.

The local 5g mast was hit by lightening last week and blew up loads of tvs and router boxes.
Our tv went off and we have had a poor signal since.
Freeview have been no help and mobile mast operator have already sent out filters after a previous issue a year ago. We use the Wenvoe transmitter. Is this not working ?
What can we do to get a better signal for Xmas?

As you haven't given a full postcode, it's impossible to say if there are particular issues affecting reception in your specific area, however I can find no faults listed for the Wenvoe transmitter and it's not currently listed for Planned Engineering. As far as i can deduce, the transmitter is functioning normally.
How far away from you is this 5G mast?

Some more information is needed to start making sensible suggestion about the most likely cause of your problems, otherwise it's a simple case of test/check everything and by process of elimination find the problem.

What sort of aerial have you got, how old is it? Have you checked that it's still pointing in the correct direction and its rods (or squashed Xs) are horizontal (for Wenvoe). Is the downlead secure and not flapping in the wind?

Do you have an aerial pre-amp located on the mast or do you have a booster amp/splitter for feeding more that one TV/device?
If you have more than one TV, are you seeing the same problems on them all?
Is your TV a "Smart" TV, if so, how is it connected to the Internet - by Ethernet cable or Wireless?
Have you looked in the TV Tuning section to see what the Signal Strength and Quality (or Error/BER) figures are for each UHF channel at the Wenvoe transmitter.
(See the Wenvoe transmitter page for more information).

Sorry, I had intended to mention that you may have to wait a minute or two before your post will appear on this site, and similarly if you get a "fatal error" message on posting, which generally can be ignored.
The site owner has not been able to fix (yet?) the issues causing this problem.

Sue:

As you haven't given a full postcode, we can't check which transmitter is your most likely. Most of Gloucester will be covered by the Ridge Hill main transmitter, but some spots may be covered by a relay transmitter.
It's probable you receive Ridge Hill and this is currently lis6ted for Planned Engineering with "Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 01/04/2024 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels" which basically means there can be periods of reduced power or use of the Reserve Antenna lower down the mast. This can result in you getting a weaker signal or loss of signal if you are not in a strong reception area. Do NOT retune, as this can end up just clearing your correct tuning.

If it's the BBC SD channels you aren't receiving at present, try the HD versions LCNs 101-107.

I have had no freeview channels for the past two days. have followed all suggested solutions but still no channels. All I get is NO SIGNAL message. I have had this before three weeks ago and after 5 days of blank screen the channels started re appearing one or two at a time on retuning. I am on the Ridgehill transmitter according the information site. Neither of my two televisions, both with freeview built in, nor the freeview boxes used for recording are getting signal.
