From Wikipedia: The channel's annual budget for 2011/12 is 1,166.6 million.3 Along with the BBC's other domestic television stations, and many European broadcasters and some in Asia, it is funded principally by the television licence fee, and therefore shows uninterrupted programming with no commercial advertising at any time. It is currently the most watched television channel in the United Kingdom, ahead of its traditional rival for ratings leadership, ITV1. This system used a vertically-scanned image of 30 lines just enough resolution for a close-up of one person, and with a bandwidth low enough to use existing radio transmitters. - en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org link icon read more about BBC One HD on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

JB38. Many thanks for your help and advice. I will update my post if anything changes or as you say the problem sorts itself. I bought the TV specifically for the built in HD tuner and it is most annoying that it has not picked up the HD channels! I will probably get onto Panasonice if the problem is not sorted by the end of the month. Thanks again and I will post update.

JB38 and anyone else following this thread - Update. Problem solved. Appears that my aerial was pointing at Waltham and not Belmont which is where according to my post code it should be pointed! Waltham went HD today ....Just re-tuned TV and since I am getting all channels including HD channels through my TV's built in DVB-T/T2 I am happy. Quality is amazing. Thanks to JB38 for the useful suggestions and patience!

I have just bought a Panasonic TX-L42E3B which has Freeview HD built in, but am not getting any HD chanelsbut am getting the normal Freeview chanels but some of these lose signal from time to time. (Today all normal freeview chanels are there with excellent signal quality but still no HD chanels)
Will an aerial booster improve things ?
Thanks
