By providing a full postcode (such as W1A 1AA), national grid reference (for example SE123456) or latitude, longitude pair (like 54, -0.5) this page will provide a map, terrain plot and detailed information of the location showing the UK and RoI television transmitters that it is possible you receive Freeview, Freeview HD, Youview, BT TV and Saorview from.

(Don't know your postcode? Find it at Post Office Postcode finder).

UK Free TV uniquely shows you transmitter coverage maps, aerial to transmitter terrain plots, the closest 10 mobile phone masts (for possible 5G-at-800 interference) as well as tabulated information (sorted by direction, by received signal strength, by frequency, by service names or by transmitter name).

I have been told that our reception problems here in Eastbourne for the last 48 hours are due to "co-channel interference from the Amiens transmitter in France due to weather conditions". What is this about, it has never happened before, and what weather conditions? All non-HD BBC TV and radio channels have vanished!

Is there not someone who monitors the tv signals and can fix them? Surely someone must be able to fix this widespread problem.
After all I am paying my TV licence,

It *has* happened before, quite often actually. There is nothing you can do about a natural physical phenomenon. Don't try retuning your TV else you may well lose all your services!

To all others having problems in the South, East and South East, just wait and be patient for the high pressure area to move away, then reception should be back to normal - unless you have wrongly retuned at the wrong time.

kevin roebuck: See postings above and on other pages. The inversion effect is causing signals from distant transmitters to carry and interfere with local ones. Judging by postings on this site, it's affecting a large swathe of the country.

To all:
One clue as to whether there are inversion effects is to look at how foggy it is. It is often the case, but not quite always, that foggy indicates warmer air is above cooler air, which is a temperature inversion. With that happening RF signals can travel much further than normal and cause unusual reception (some see French TV stations!) or such interference as to swamp the wanted Freeview signals. This is nothing new and has been known about by TV service engineers for many years, at least from the start of UHF transmission in the mid 1960s.
My advice is do nothing and be patient, waiting to the weather conditions to change for the better. Do not try retuning either as you are likely to lose even more programmes!

A press announcement stated that BBC4HD (amongst others) would be available on freeview from the 10th December, however having retuned my TV, I cannot get this channel yet. When will this be available in my area( Eastbourne BN238FB)?

John Mitchell: There are no plans at the present time to transmit BBC4HD from Heathfield. Unless you are able to get a sniff of a signal direct from Crystal Palace (try a manual tune on C33) the only way of receiving BBC4HD at your location is via satellite.
