How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?
Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Then press [4] to go to the RF output menu.
You can now change the value so that it does not clash with an analogue TV channel or a Freeview multiplex.
HD and "new EPG" boxes
If you have a HD box, press [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing is shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button. Then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until this screen is shown, and press SELECT to change the values:

GrahamS: Is the grainyness caused by a new signal being picked up by the aerial? To test whether this might be the case, unplug the incoming aerial lead and see if the interference has reduced, or at least changed.
Perhaps there is a 4G base station operating in the 800MHz band. If the RF out channel is set from 61 upwards then it is in the region of any potential 800MHz 4G base stations.

Hi Dave,
thanks for your response. I am writing this on behalf of my daughter.
She does not have an aerial, just the sky dish. Sorry, I omitted to say in the first posting that I checked the whole network with a very old (13yrs !) Grundig Sky box (on which I was able to set RF outlet to 'on' and had 9v at the RF2 port ) and everything worked fine including the Magic-Eye in one of the rooms!! Does this mean we can discount 4G?
Nevertheless, I will change channel (presently 68) tomorrow, and let you know.

GrahamS: It would seem doubtful that it is 4G given that the nearest mobile base stations to you are, according to Ofcom, on the high ground adjacent to the Stocksbridge Bypass.

Hi Andy, try re-locating the 'eye' sometimes the screen itself can cause interference that can interfere with the eye.
What type or eye do you have. Have a look here as there are a few designed just for flat panel screens.
Remote 'Eyes'
I have one of this type and have never had any issues.

ANDY THOMPSON.
Hi,
another thing you could also try is to check if the tv has its built in amp turned ON, if so then try turning this off to see if it helps.
regards

scott: 68 is generally OK on most boxes although you can try using any channel from 63 upwards, however it has to be said that the RF modulators fitted in earlier Sky+HD boxes (should this apply?) tend to have a weak output resulting in a somewhat grainy picture, this also being something which can happen with long cable runs.
The best way to check if your modulator is responsible or not, or even testing to find out the best channel to use! is by temporarily connecting the secondary TV directly into the Sky boxes RF1 (not 2) output socket, of course remembering to retune (in analogue) the secondary TV after every channel change made on the Sky box.

Teresa: This device replaces and also acts in exactly the same way as though you were programming a Sky boxes internal RF modulator with the question being, have you as yet tried setting it up using the following procedure.
(1) : Press "Services" then scroll along from Options to "Settings" and
press Select.
"Picture" should now be highlighted but do NOT press on it.
(2) : Press: "0 - 1 - Select" and the "Set up" tab should now be
highlighted.
(3) : Use the right arrow button to scroll along the list to "RF out" and
where pressing on reveals the default settings menu enabling you to change
them.
Please ensure that you save any changes made before exiting the menu
system.
