My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Signal on BBC keeps dropping out - no signal - and then coming back on . It also happens on free view channels but not 3,4 or 5
Some days it's ok but recently it's got worse.
Tried unplugging and re plugging equipment to no effect or improvement..

Bob smith: Need a postcode, the supposed transmitter and signal strength. BTW - retuning makes things worse

We cannot answer your question unless you give a full post code for your exact location, a partial code is not sufficient. There are over 1000 digital TV transmitters around the UK and without that location information we cannot determine which of them you might be using!
It is highly unlikely that there is any transmitter fault lasting for several days, so you need to check all your equipment and connections. Retuning has made matter worse for you as you will have lost all the tuning information that your receiver had previously so you would be not be able to tell whether the fault in your equipment has cleared up.
If your neighbour has the same problem, are you in a block that uses a communal aerial? If so, then you need to contact the management organisation for that building to report the problem so they can instigate investigations as they are responsible for such aerial systems.

Toshiba TV, keeps pixelating. Keep having to do First time installation, have unplugged, etc, no BBC 1,2,3,4 or ITV 1.
Transmitter indicates no problems, Dover & Wye. Did this last year in warm weather.
TV indicating no signal. Help!

S: Retuning or carrying out a first time installation will never fix a problem like this as all you are doing is deleting the channels which are already correctly tuned and searching for them again. It's possible that you're experiencing interference from more distant (possibly continental) transmitters due to the warm weather causing lift conditions which allow signals to travel further than they would under normal conditions. Another possibility is that you have a loose or damaged cable or connection, so have you checked everything behind the TV?

Further to that said by StevensOnln1, please give a full post code so that we can look up what the signal reception condition s are at your location.

For the last month, I have had problems with my BBC A (Channel 44) signal being weak or absent at irregular times of the day. I have fitted an at800 filter which helps when there is a signal to filter, but often there is none. Reception of D3+4 (Channel 41) remains consistently good. I had a new aerial professionally installed about five years ago. I have checked all the cabling and connectors, which I installed. I live in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and am tuned to the Hemel Hempstead transmitter, about 7 miles away.

Ian Johnston: If your getting barely an signal on a main mux, and your 7 miles away, then you need to check the cabling again!
Check all muxes signal levels, but it sounds like something is badly wrong with your system. Just because your getting a signal doesn't mean your getting a strong signal, so you need to give us the levels on all muxes.

Use the Sheffield transmitter but in poor weather the signal fails or the picture pixellates and most channels are unwatchable.
