My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Kathy Evans: As has been covered many times across this website, True Entertainment and True Movies have been moved by their owner (Sony) and are now broadcast on the local TV multiplex, therefore they are now available only in areas where there is a local TV station on Freeview channel 7 or 8.

Jonathan Brown:
Your devices need to be DVB-T2 capable, they need to be Freeview HD devices. If they are not HD capable then they will not tune to that channel.

Hi we are camping on Beeston Regis campsite at West Runton. Despite having bought a h gain aerialigh gain aerial etc we are unable to get more than 7 channels and even these are with I intermittent picture /sound. How can the signal be this bad here if the nearest transmitter is at Wesr Runton.? The site has got aerials up for wi-fi, could this give interference?
Thank you in advance

Martin Lauridsen:
Please provide the full post code of your camp sitre. Then we can check which transmitter you are actually receiving from. I am presuming you have correctly retuned the TV?

I retuned our 2 smart TVs as requested on screen and I am now getting all the channels but with a intermittent frozen picture on many channels. l am in line of sight of the Selkirk mast .I have now retuned both sets twice. Also l have tried rotating the aerial to no avail , and returned it to its original direction.
What is the problem? It was OK before your retune request.
Ps two of my neighbours that I know have the same problem they are within a mile of our house. We are in a rural location.

Mr Mike Robinson:
If you (and your neighbours) have old C/D group aerials this could be the reason for your reception difficulties since the retune event on Aug.14th. You now need a group K or Wideband/Group T aerial as the channels have moved to the low end of the UHF spectrum. You can get free help if you do not have Satellite or Cable by contacting Freeview on 0808-100-0288 see Important changes to Freeview TV signals | Freeview also see the FAQs on that page in case they may help. If your lack of reception is an old aerial issue you might get temporary reception on LCN 751 and channels above in your programme list as has been mentioned in Freeview FAQs.
