Valerie: Indoor aerials are very hit and miss for reliable reception of Freeview signals. However if you have a strong enough signal with a clear signal path, preferably with the aerial positioned by a window facing the transmitter if possible, satisfactory reception is sometimes possible. At present, if you are using the Belmont transmitter Mux ArqA and Mux ArqB are at low power, this continues until switchover at Tacolneston on 23rd November 2011. If you are using Waltham most muxes will be on high power from 31st August 2011, SDN however remains at low power until 12th October 2011.

Claudia: First check that the aerial lead into the back of the TV is in good order and the coax plug is firmly fitted to the end of the cable. If it is not one of the permanently fitted types check that there are no stray strands of the outer braid of the coax touching the inner core. If the aerial is shared between all the apartments ask your neighbours if they are having problems. If yes, it is likely that the distribution amplifier has lost power, a circuit breaker might have tripped, or someone has turned off the power to go on holiday without realising that it supplies the TV aerial distribution amp! If you cannot see anything obvious, and are sure the aerial is faulty you will have to contact the landlord or building management company to sort out the problem. If your neighbours are all OK try another freeview box or TV if possible just to make sure.

Richard: No need for viewers tuned to Winter Hill to retune on 21st September 2011, as Mux ArqB is already 64QAM 8k mode. The change will just be the transmitter power being increased to 100kW.

CHRIS BLAKEY: Mux1 is replaced by MuxBBCA on a new frequency (C47) and MuxA changes frequency to C52+ (vacated by Mux1). On analogue BBC2 is switched off permanently and ITV1 changes frequency to C51. You should therefore avoid setting timers to record any Mux1 or MuxA digital channel or analogue BBC2 or ITV1. The remaining digital Muxes and analogue BBC1, C4 and C5 continue to transmit on the existing frequencies until 21st September 2011. Note that on 7th September all channels might be off air for a while prior to 6AM .

andrew Jamieson: As long as the tuner in the "full HD" receiver supports DVB-T2 you will not need an additional Freeview HD box to receive all available Freeview services.

Ernie: It is highly unlikely that you will be able to receive the COM muxes from Sutton Coldfield after 21st September 2011 because they will be transmitted on the same frequencies that are used by Ludlow for the PSB muxes. Ludlow is a "Freeview light" transmitter and is not expected to have the COM muxes added on. The Digital UK postcode checker predicts that you might be able to receive the COM muxes from Ridge Hill when using a suitable aerial.

Steff: Which mux or transmitter are you trying to find on C51? This frequency is no longer used at Wenvoe, and possible use at Mendip has not yet been implemented.

jordan: Most likely to be BBC1 East Midlands. If so it would have disappeared about 12.35am for DSO. Brierley Hill is on C57 but some other relays use C58 in the West Midlands.

kate: If your are receiving from Sutton Coldfield your aerial will point East and be mounted with the rods horizontal. To receive the Kidderminster relay the aerial points Northwest and is mounted with the rods vertical. If the aerial has a green plastic stopper in the end of the boom it will be a group C/D type, designed to work best on the frequencies in use at Kidderminster. In that event you would be best advised to have a replacement aerial for reception of Sutton Coldfield. You are predicted to have good reception on all muxes from Sutton Coldfield after 21st September 2011 (DSO stage 2), when using a suitable aerial.
