Chris Onion: When the Housing Association altered the aerial feeding your block did they provide a new aerial point to connect your equipment to, or did they feed the signal to the original outlet? If you have an older outlet that you are not currently using it will supply Sutton Coldfield signals, as long as it is still connected up! I still think your current feed comes from the new Waltham aerial on Abbey Street, if there is an overhead cable linking the two blocks it will suggest that this is the case. After 21st September 2011 it is likely that the Sutton Coldfield signal will be strong enough to be received irrespective of the direction of the aerial.

Scott: Whilst the recognised frequency range for a group C/D aerial is C48 to C68, in practice C37 would still be received with an acceptable signal strength unless it was in a poor signal area. Many viewers to the Waltham transmitter watched Channel Five on C35 using their original group C/D aerials without difficulty, in some cases, because the propagation was better on the lower frequencies, the reception on Channel Five was better than that on BBC2 on C64!

janet: This is a free to air satellite channel. You need a Sky or Freesat box plus a dish to receive it. Your TV with built in Freeview uses a normal UHF TV aerial to receive a somewhat different selection of channels.

chris: The BBC channels are being transmitted at full power after switchover. Check that you have stored channels on the correct frequency for the transmitter that your aerial is pointing to. Sheffield/Crosspool is C27 and Chesterfield/Unstone is C26. Belmont has Mux BBCA on C22 and is found first when scanning if reception is possible.

Shane: At Lark Stoke MuxArqB is transmitted currently on a temporary frequency, C60, at low power until 28th September 2011. It will use C47 from that date, SDN will use C41+ and Mux ArqA will be on C44, so a retune will be required.

Doug B: C31 is used at Crystal Palace for the HD Mux. It is likely that signals for SDN from Sandy Heath and HD from C.P. are blocking each other at your location. What did the Digital UK postcode checker give you for reception of Crystal Palace?

D: Yes, Stanton Moor is transmitting the HD multiplex. To be able to receive Freeview HD you will need a Freeview HD box or a TV with an inbuilt tuner that supports DVB-T2. HD ready simply means that the TV is able to display an HD picture, when connected via an HDMI cable, to a suitable HD source such as a Blu-ray player or a Sky, Freesat or Freeview HD box.

Roza: If you are using the Nottingham/Kimberley transmitter Mux ArqB is now transmitting on C48 following a recent frequency change. The Digital UK postcode checker shows excellent reception for you from this transmitter. Try doing another retune if you did not do one during the past week. If you are using Waltham or Sutton Coldfield however, reception is shown as poor for this mux.

Neil Stanley: What is your postcode? - so a check can be made on which transmitter you are likely to be using and whether any changes have been made which could affect your reception of Mux ArqB.

m akram: On 7th September 2011 MuxBBCA starts on C47 replacing Mux1 (and analogue BBC2). MuxA changes frequency to C52. Use therefore 40,46, 47,49,50,52.and 39(HD) until 21st September 2011. Then as per your second list.
