terry mason: OK, you need to unpick those different things.
Your aerial sounds like its doing the job, and your getting (West?) Midlands programmes. Fine. But your tuner is also picking up BBC1 from Sandy Heath, etc. Thats ok, and when the tuner has two channels the same , it puts the weaker or alternative one in the 800's. But since a lot of the time its much weaker, it could be that it doesn't always show up very well. In the case of my PVR, I had to try to had those 800's, because it would confuse the timer.
Freeview Play works in very much the same way as Youview or Freetime (which is used on Humax sat. boxes) - all are accessed from the internet, not your aerial. However, I assume that you do need at least an OK signal, because they work by you using your EPG to find that particular channel/programme, and there might be regional variations, so asking for a particular transmitter makes sense. Having just gone to the website, the reason for asking for a postcode makes perfect sense - its Freeview, so they want to find out what channels you can actually get from your aerial. If your on a light transmitter only, your obviously get far fewer channels. If you put your postcode into this site, it will bring up for us your location, best chance of a full service, etc.
To get Freeview Play (which will probably eventually be the de facto standard, since its run by Freeview itself), you'll need it either in a newish TV (Panasonic and now LG), or in a recorder, such as Humax or panasonic. The recorder is a cost effective route - you'll get 3 HD tuners, wifi built in, Freeview play, and its of course a recorder/hd box. About 179-229 is what you should be paying from those two good brands (I have to replace my PVR, and I'll be getting one of those two).
I have no idea what a 'Fox Tv aerial' is, but if its an indoor aerial, your wasting your time and money - and you have a working outdoor aerial anyway, which is far better. Tell us what channels you get (do you get more than the ones listed for Dallington Park? If so, your on a different transmitter), and then we can advise you better.

Christopher Webber: Can't help you with the motion handling on the main TV either (whats the brand/model?), although its worth having a play with the settings (AV forum has a 14 point guide, but even 3-4 of those might really help). You'd be amazed at how many people leave it on the factory setting, etc Long term, I suspect a decent new TV will handle motion better.
As for the switchover, I can't find right now Brianists article on it, but there is one here: Upcoming Freeview transmitter changes 2017 to 2019 , and as you can see, it looks more like a mover around, so you should notice much difference. If your in North Norfolk, it could be that looking at Belmont is more useful (its that kind of area), and the worst that needs to happen is that you might need a new aerial.

E?turner: Although you say the signal strength is excellent - check all the muxes, since its likely a mux has a problem, rather than anything else. Mostly likely problem is a dodgy aerial cable, so swap it out and see if they are any better.

Colin Jager: Check your leads again. Logically, Com 5 is broadcasting, but your not getting anything, so its you. Best guess - aerial lead or some connection is damaged or very loose, and that mux has gone, but the others are just hanging on. Damaged cables dont always loose the weakest signal first, which is why you have to check.

raymond harris: You havn't read the manual for the Firestick, have you? Or looked at the instructions on the internet?https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202106780 , because I have no idea what you mean by 'mains adapter', and it will only go into an HDMI port.

MikeP: To be fair to the planners, how would you plan for terrestial TV reception? Reception is about geography, and a housing estate can't suddenly be move a mile away because the signal might suddenly be a bit dodgy.
And to be honest, if your buying a new house, TV reception probably isn't the key factor in your purchase!

Annie: Since your 30km from a main transmitter with a clear line of sight, you should be getting a decent signal. So your system is evidently the problem. Almost certainly you have an existing severe problem which the booster vaguely helped, but now the system has died.
Call out a professional.

Jane Cresswell: Your 40km from Mendip, so its likely your aerial system is failing - check for loose or damaged cables, etc.

AJ: Put your postcode into the website and it will bring up the channels you can get. The Bromsgrove transmitter has the bulk of the channels, so either your system has a real problem (hence your not picking up many channels), you've not tuned it into that transmitter, or you had an entirely different system before.
