Talking Pictures TV

MikeB: Talking Pictures moved to COM6 back in November, so a HD (DVB-T2) tuner has not been required for a few months now.

PBS America

anthony fawley: Which transmitter are you using? PBS America and QVC HD are both on the COM8 multiplex which has moved to a new frequency at several transmitters over the last few weeks, so if you are using one of the affected transmitters you will need to retune.

J.C. Moore: No one from this website can come out to your house. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and do not attempt to retune as this will not fix a problem with weak signal. If that doesn't solve it you may need to contact a local aerial installer.

Frank : Retuning will never fix interference or a weak signal, as all you are doing is deleting all of your channels and searching for them again. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.

Patricia: This website doesn't have any weather items. If you mean for weather forecasts on Channel 5, try contacting the broadcaster, as this isn't their website.

Lesley : If you're asking about something shown on the channel, try contacting the broadcaster. This is an independent website aimed at helping with TV and radio reception problems.

Chris Roberts: Those channels are on COM7 which moved to UHF channel 55 last week at Hannington. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see your predicted coverage.

Steve: 8/10 is plenty for signal strength, but the 0/0 quality suggests that you're picking up interference from somewhere.

Mick: ITV3 moved multiplex a couple of weeks ago, so your TV may be stuck with the old tuning data. Try unplugging the aerial and retuning to clear the channel list (make a note of any planned recordings first) then reconnect the aerial and retune again to pick up fresh channel data.

John Law: No one from the BBC is going to answer you here as this isn't their website. There is no information showing as to the cause of the fault or when service will be restored (all anyone here can see is what is shown in the transmitter engineering notice in the post above yours).

With regards to when you will receive the full lineup of channels, the answer is probably never. This has nothing to do with the BBC, who do not operate any transmitters (they were sold off to a private company years ago). The commercial broadcasters do not think it is worthwhile to broadcast their channels from transmitters such as Stranraer which only cover a relatively small number of viewers. The full Freeview service is broadcast from 80 main transmitters which cover around 90% of UK households, the investment required to cover the costs of broadcasting the commercial channels from the remaining 1,000+ transmitters which take coverage to 98.5% would not produce a worthwhile return for the broadcasters. If you want more channels you should look at getting Freesat.
