Below are all of StevensOnln1's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Mike wilson: No the signal cannot be boosted, firstly this is an independent technical help website which has nothing to do with any broadcaster or transmitter company, so nobody reading or posting on this website had any means to make any kind of change to any transmitter. COM7 is a Single Frequency Network (SFN) so increasing the broadcast power of one transmitter would lead to more interference with other transmitters, which would therefore cause problems for viewers in other areas. COM7 is a temporary multiplex which is due to close within the next 12 months so it is very unlikely that any major technical changes will be made at this point. Nothing has been announced regarding what will happen to any of the channels currently on COM7 when the multiplex closes.

Geoffrey Hampton: Presumably you mean ITV HD, as ITV 3 isn't available in HD on Freeview. There are currently only a handful of ITV regions available in HD on Freeview, with Meridian being broadcast in HD across large parts of the south of England. This is expected to change next year as the PSB3 multiplex which carries BBC One HD, BBC Two HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD & Channel 5 HD becomes available for every region, rather than the current situation where only a handful of regional versions of PSB3 exist.

Paulette Grosvenor: The broadcaster has chosen to only broadcast Now 80s on the Manchester multiplex, presumably at low cost in order to keep the channel number. If you still have your Sky box, plug it back in and you will still get all of the free to air channels, including Now 80s.

chris.S.M.: Firstly it has nothing to do with your TV Licence and the transmitter does not switch off or reduce it's power output overnight. The problem you are describing is most likely caused by electrical interference from something in your home (or nearby) operating on a timer which turns on at 2:30am. Check for anything in your home which operates on an overnight timer and check with your neighbours whether anyone has something that does.

Michael : End dates for engineering work are never normally published as they can be impacted by factors such as weather conditions (e.g. rain, high winds, or high temperatures) which are beyond anyone's control.

robert: Where are you located? The Winter Hill transmitter covers a huge area and overlaps with various other transmitters. Which stations have you tried?

Pat: COM7's licence expires in June 2022 so it will close within the next 12 months (although it could be terminated earlier with 3 months notice). No announcement has yet been made regarding closure dates for COM7, nor what will happen to any of the channels is currently carries.

Barry Stevenson: Tiny Pop is carried on the local TV multiplex, so will only be available if you can receive That's Scotland on Freeview channel 8. To be able to see your predicted reception we need a full postcode, EH47 covers a large area and will not return a result on the coverage checker.

Andrew McIntyre: Neither the Skipton or Skipton Town transmitters (both are predicted to serve your postcode) are ever likely to be upgraded as both serve only a few thousand homes, so the commercial broadcasters didn't think it was worth the cost of providing additional channels/multiplexes to a low number of potential viewers.
You may be able to get a signal from the Winter Hill transmitter, which would give you the main COM4/5/6 commercial multiplexes, however you would then receive the BBC1 North West & ITV Granada regions rather than Yorkshire. This would require a new aerial pointed in a different direction and may result in a weaker signal than you have now on some channels. Alternatively, look at getting Freesat.

Michael Morgan: Do you receive BBC One HD on 101? Both 5Select and TBN are on the PSB3 multiplex which required a HD capable TV or box to receive.
