Wendy Leak: Unfortunately as far as I can remember these messages cannot be turned off on T2 albeit that automatic software updates can be, and so although inconvenient as it may be to carry out and especially so when you have to use manual tuning so as to avoid picking up Belmont, but I suggest that you carry out a "factory default" on the box as this will scrub everything already stored (including messages) but with the exception of anything previously recorded, that is so long as you do NOT accidentally check the "Format HDD" box, as that would then result in you deleting previously stored programmes.

Wendy Leak: Meant also to say, that after having carried out the "factory default" should you prior to having carried out this action had any programmes set up for recording then unfortunately you will have to set them up again, as the factory default reset deletes any personal preferences that you may have made, in other words it scrubs everything that you have already done but with the exception of your recordings so long as the format HDD box has NOT been checked.

jb38: Many thanks for your advice but I did carry out a factory default retune as advised by Humax. It looks like I've got to live with the message.

Wendy Leak: I suspected that might be the case, but though on further checking I have found out that this is a known issue associated with the version of software installed on some of these boxes whereby if you ignore the message the box will automatically carry out a retune itself around 4.00am or so in the morning, and so you should disable all automatic updates by selecting: menu - settings - installation - software update and selecting manual, then just back out of the menu should it allow you to do so.
By the way the software version associated with this problem is: 1.02.27, this being accessed for checking by pressing: Menu - settings - system - system information, but of course as you have said its one of these situations you will have to live with as the messages will vanish in time.

Barbara Finch: What I suspect you may have alluded to is the fact that you reside in a block of flats and therefore use a communal aerial system. In which case the communal aerial system may require adjustment so as to let through from the aerial the new frequency (used by ITV, Channel 4 etc). So the answer to your question may be "when the engineer visits your block". If no resident has reported the issue to the party responsible, because everyone is waiting for someone else to do it, then it may not get done.

Have used the site many times to predict transmitter coverage and ascertain transmitter frequencies. Brilliant!
However, may have an anomaly with postcode LS10 3BS. Would expect Elmley Moor to be returned, but other distant transmitters are given.
Have we hit a wrong button somewhere, or is there a database error?

Paul Green: Yes, on testing I have also experienced the problem referred to, although no doubt Briantist who owns and operates the site will rectify this now that its known about. But though you should click on "Digital UK tradeview" seen on the list on right hand side of your posting as this indicates Emley Moor as providing the best signal for your location, the Bilsdale transmitter a close second.
