In the SP2 (Bulbridge) region of Salisbury we're lucky if we get a good signal for more than a few days a month. On those good days both signal strength and quality are between 8 and 10 on all channels. Then, SOMETHING happens and the signals drop to 5 or lower and the quality between 0 and 3. This makes all channels 'no signal' or unwatchable except for those on Ch50. We've had new aerials and local pro's in who offer no explanation. It's not a weather issue cuz the (default) bad signal can kick in in an instant irrespective of conditions. Ch60 is at 786 MHz so not in 4G range. I can only assume that the explanation lies with the transmitter since, when the signal is good it's very good. Then it drops in the blink of an eye.

This problem began about a year ago with an occasional bad signal day. Since then, the good/bad ratio has shifted to the reversal we have now.

Needless to say, I have better things to do than monitor unwatchable TV channels so I can't be precise but, since new year I doubt we've had more than 10 days of good signal.

Rant over.

Is there any reason why an app has not been created to direct caravanners such as myself to assist in finding the nearest transmitter?
If I'm setting up my caravan satellite dish I use 'sat finder' on my phone which gives a very good indication as to which direction to point your dish. It would be very useful to have something similar for FREEVIEW.

Hi since early December my hd channels have been pixelating - my aerial is on the roof pointing at Dover - I have a booster in the loft - on my you view box signal is around 52 and quality is 100% .

Chris whiting: Your 31km from Dover with an obstruction about 3km from you, which is why when you look at the DigitalUK link, they think your a bit iffy for some channels, and you've an aerial in the roof. On the other hand, you've got 100% signal strength, your not all that far from the transmitter, with a booster, and your HD channels are breaking up. This would indicate too much signal. For some help, have a look here: Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you

Chris whiting: The fact that you have 100% quality on your YouView box on HD services means reception is OK.

MikeB: Chris says the strength is 52 -- it's quality that is 100%.

aw: Whereabouts in DN4? Maybe you are tuned to Belmont with your aerial directed to Emley Moor.

There is a problem with the Freeview Reception Map Full Details page. On selecting the full details on the reception map I get a list of muxes in ascending order with the shortcuts to change the order of the display. Problem is that all of the shortcuts take you back to the Mapping page. The properties of the shortcuts look OK to me and I get this with IE and Google browsers.

Hi, I have no trouble now getting pictures through the Humax box but can get nothing if I go through the TV.. There are no problems with the TV in another room...which does not have a Humax. The only thing that appears on screen when I try to access through the Samsung control is P1 or P2 etc. When I go to Ext 2 VCR No Signal appears!! Thanks for your advice.
