My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Hello, I just bought a bush twin tuner digital tv recorder and all seems to work fine except it does not bring up itv3 (channel 10) and says it does not exist?
How do I rectify this as it's one of my favourite channels?
Thanks everyone

We have freeview on the upstairs TV and also through a Digital TV recorder downstairs, but, all channels on the EPG keep coming and going there are blank spaces then the programme re appears, we can't set the recorder to tape because the programme disappears or it's not there to start with, we have retuned the box numerous times, we have even tried a new one, but it's no different, the picture on both teles is very good it's just the EPG we keep losing on the tele upstairs and the digi box downstairs, we have a booster in the loft. and roof aerial. postcode SN5 6HH

L Marshall: On the assumption you are meaning that channels on the EPG keep dropping out and "not" that the actual EPG is vanishing, which of course it cannot do unless a retune is carried out whilst the signal is down, then have you verified that the booster isn't defective?
As all aerials in your area would appear to be facing towards the Mendip transmitter rather than Oxford, go into your TV's tuning menu and select "manual tune", entering but "not" scanning Mux C49 into the box, as this will reveal the strength and quality of the signal being received, observing same for around a couple of minutes or so for the purpose noting if any rapid fluctuations in either strength or quality are seen.
If the signal is reasonably stable, should you be able to access the power supply to the booster, try switching it off and see if this makes any difference to the situation, which of course it should, if it doesn't then the booster is defective.
By the way, have you checked with any of your neighbours to find out if they are also suffering from similar problems with reception?
Further advice dependant on feedback.

Freeview channels 19 (Yesterday) and 24 (ITV4) are often "poor signal quality" or "selected programme not available"
I retuned all Freeview equipment yesterday afternoon, but today these two channels are again useless....not even any audio....wanted to watch the "Tour of Britain"
is there a reason for this please???
all other channels that i use are fine!!!!
best regards, L

Since the retune, I have discovered my amplifier was defective, new one now in place, all tv's up and running, however the newest tv (24 months old) is selecting Yorkshire and Lincolnshire as it region and auto tuning to include BBC1 as Yorkshire, however we are in Leicestershire using the Waltham transmitter,the picture on this channel is blocking/breaking up as I assume it's too far away for it to view it. I have tried a factory reset, new installation, although not tried removing aerial and retuning and then starting again, will have a go at that, any ideas appreciated.

Please supply a post code (or that of a nearby shop) so contributors can look at your location in relation to the transmitters and terrain which could all be significant in your problems.
