My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Briantist: If it had been deleted, there would be nothing there at all.
There is an MHEG stream which contains this message:
"Rishtey Europe is currently not available. http://europe.rishteytv.c…uot;
According to the EPG, it should be on air.
According to the EPG, VIVA should NOT be on air but it is!

js: Although possibly already aware of this, but he problem only affects Freeview transmissions, as Rishtey Europe is perfectly OK on both Sky 822 and Freesat 661.

jb38: No, I hadn't checked. It makes nonsense of their message. Accurate information is hard to come by these days.

My signals from Waltham for the past week have been so bad. The impression on all channels is that lightening is hitting picture and sound. Considerably better to day but some breaking up this morning.
If Waltham was posting a problem notice I could understand but it is not
Any help welcome. Engineer calling tomorrow but he too may want a tip.
Thanks

David Field: It would appear that your TV has locked onto the channels broadcast by the Mendip transmitter rather than Wenvoe, the way of getting around the problem being by deleting all stored in the tuners memory system followed by carrying out a "Manual" tune of the Muxes used by Wenvoe.
The procedure being to carry out an auto-tune on your TV "after" having first of all removed the TV's aerial input connection, this action blanking out everything previously stored in the tuner, checking the success of same by witnessing "no signal" on any attempt to select a channel.
The next stage being to go into the tuning menu / manual tune, then entering the following channels used by Wenvoe one at a time.
C41 BBC1 Wales / C44 - ITV1 Wales / C47 - HD service / C42 - ITV3 / C45 / C39 / C51 (Local) / C31 - COM7 / C37 - COM8

jb38: You may remember the trouble I was having with about half my Freeview channels? The signal quality, on the blink? Well, this seems to have resolved itself, quite spontaneously, after about a month of disruption. It came and went, just like that.

I am quite sure this problem was due to engineering works on my local transmitter. I would recommend you wait a few weeks to see if things resolve themselves. I wasted about 20 quid on attenuators and cable strippers etc, to no avail. Now it's all got better by itself!
