My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Alastair: Can you provide a full postcode? It's possible you're using the Waltham transmitter - Multiplex 2 has moved to a different frequency. You will need to do a first-time installation, which some boxes call a factory reset or a default setting, because many boxes don't cope with finding services that they already think they know where to find.
On a communal system, it's possible that the frequencies are filtered and amplified separately, a 'channelized' system. In this case, the building manager will need to get the system retuned for the new channel. They will need to do this again in August when Waltham completes.

Eric: Is the one that's working connected to a longer run of cable from the aerial than the one that isn't?
If so, you probably have slightly too much signal. Try adding an attenuator to the TV that isn't working. Or, if you have a separate amplifier rather than an amplified splitter, try disconnecting that.

Hi,
Ive lost all my channels. Iv tried unplugging my arial and tv and then restarting it, but its not finding any channels.
I know there was due to be a hange over today, but I was told that I would be fine as I have a tv that recieves freeview. My arial is on the roof. Can anyone offer any help please.

Mike Dimmick: Well, I'm not sure but I imagine it's the reverse. The TV that works fine is on the second floor very near the aerial while the one that doesn't work is on the ground floor.
I had another thought. The TV that is having the problems also has a DVD player and PS3 plugged into it. The one that is fine has nothing else plugged in. Could that be the cause?

Kevin Davey: If you are receiving signals from the Waltham transmitter the frequency of Mux2 changed to C31 early this morning.You will need to clear the channel list by doing a factory reset then do a scan to re-store the channels.If this does not find the missing channels try to do a manual tune to C31 noting signal strength and quality. Check you have no VCR, Sky box or games console with the RF modulator tuned around C31.According to the Digital UK postcode checker good reception may also be possible from the Belmont transmitter.Check for duplicate channels in the 800s of the channel list.

Also, when I look to reset all settings on the TV, it warns me that this should only be done when there are serious issues - is this still safe?
