My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Yes, the flats have a communal aerial. It was upgraded for digital at least 18 months ago and everything was working perfectly up until yesterday. I have a new Freeview box which was also working. A scan produces no channels. If the problem persists tomorrow I'll contact the management company to see if the other blocks in our complex have the same problem.

Andy G: The fact that you lost analogue as well suggests to me that there was something amiss with the aerial system.
There will be a powered signal amplifier/booster which has an output for each flat. Perhaps this has failed or the power has been lost to it. This is why I asked about loss of stairway lights etc because they could be supplied from the same source.
It might be worth asking your neighbours if they've lost their TV as well.

Brighton
Hi,
I'm in Brighton and have to use the Rowbridge transmitter because the local hospital blocks my signal from the nearer Whitehawk transmitter. Most nights, at peak time, my multiplex 2 series of channels ( itv, ch4, ch5 etc) either suddenly has a weak signal or loses signal altogether. Then as suddenly as the problem arose, it goes back to normal. And then, as tonight, it all goes wrong again. I can't help feeling someone at Rowbridge is fiddling with the power dial on this multiplex; if anyone can tell me what's really the problem, and how to solve it, I would really appreciate it.
I see on the Rowbridge site that the power on multiplex 1 is at maximum, whereas on multiplex 2 is weak. Why can't they both be maximum? Am I missing something here?
Apologies for ignorance, and thanks

Dave, my neighbours also have no reception on analogue or digital. The stairway lights seem to be ok.

Andy G: The fact that your neighbours have no signal points strongly to it being a fault with the aerial system.

Ipswich
Hello. We are in the SUdbury transmitter area and since retuning our Freeview this week, as advised, we have lost Channels 12, 15, 18, 21 and 22. We have tried the procedure of unplugging and turning everything off, retuning with no aerial plugged in, then retuning with all plugged back in again. However this makes no difference, The signal appears good and we've retuned on different days/times. Could anybody advise or elaborate please? Many thanks, M

Morning. Noticed recently that at certain times of the day ( usually late at night, around 10-12pm ) some channels start to play up, and then disappear. Usually it's channels 1 - 10 and the problem lasts for anything up to 10 minutes before the channels reappear again. I doesn't happen every day, sometimes only occurring once a week; other times it could be 3 days in a row. All other channels are fine while this is going on. I've retuned TV and digibox on a couple of occasions, but this intermittent problem remains ...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. (52.4017,-1.5362)

I have freeview tele and during the day between 1pm to 5pm we get breaking of the picture. This happens every day. I rescan in but it stil happens. Is this a fault of the transmitter.
