My Sky box has a "no signal message" - what do I do?
If you are getting the message "no signal" this would indicate that there is a problem with the signal from your dish into your box. Even without a card inserted into a Sky Digibox, if there is a signal, you will always get Sky Guide and the free channels.
Try powering off your box, remove the card, check carefully the cables, especially the connection to the dish, reapply the power and then when asked to insert your card you should then be able to see (for example) Sky News on 501 and the BBC News channel on 503.
Once you can see any channel, reinsert your card. This should, after about one minute, give you the channels you expect, such as 103, 104 and 105.
There are three ways you can attempt to reset your box. Please see
What can my do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' ?.
If you continue to get "No signal", you dish may have been misaligned, or there may be a fault with the cables and connectors, or a problem with the Digibox. You can see the signal strength by pressing SERVICES, then 4-SYSTEM SETUP and 6-SIGNAL STRENGTH.

Thanks Briantist. Tried that but still not working. I don't think there is a signal going to the tv. Usually I use a sky eye, which I removed in case it was the fault. Added the eye back in and there's no red light, which means no signal?
Cheers
Ben

Ben: You don't need the "Magic Eye" device to watch the channel, it only provide the remote control facility.

Hi Brian. Sorry, maybe didn't post that correctly.
I know I don't need the eye - there is no signal without it.
Was just saying that if I add the eye back in the lack of a red light confirms there is no signal?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Ben: When you re-set the Sky box did you go into the Sky boxes installers menu and select "power on" again for the RF2 output socket? and whilst in that menu did you also re-set the RF output channel to the same as you were using before?
As unless you did, the magic eye will not illuminate nor will the 2nd TV will be able to pick up the output from the Sky box.
Also, if the 2nd set is a dual standard digital / analogue type, make sure its on analogue or you will not pick up the RF output from the Sky box.
By the way, the red light only indicates that DC power from the Sky box is being received via the co-ax and not an actual RF signal, although if neither works and they are set as aforementioned, then either the co-ax has a break somewhere or the Sky box is faulty.

Ben: Meant to add, the menu referred to being accessible by pressing "Services" then "4 - 0 -1 - select" without a gap, best done whilst not looking at the screen.

Hi There
Just a query really I use a thompson freeview box which has been reset and works fine. Only thing missing is the programme listing for ITV.Which I find rather strange. Box has been reset a number of times including completely clearing its memory of all channels and redownloading everything, anything I can do.
Cheers Roy.
