My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Hi JS
Thanks for help & response..... Both Tvs are Panasonic Viera, ..
On Tv directory, some channels are blank, while most have not fully complete listings.
Most channels have this am, the current & next programme showing, but no more...itv 4 is blank.
Just noticed that the Time: is blank, if that makes any difference.
My tv menu on Panasonic doesn't let me do manual search, just auto, unless I am looking in the wrong place?
Thanks again
Gary

Gary: Is that the result with a single multiplex scanned in?
When did the problem appear?
What frequency or UHF channel did you scan.
What were the displayed signal strength and signal quality like?
Where are you?
Which transmitter is your aerial pointing at?
No one can help without this information.

Panasonic TV.Since the re-scan of 3rd September, my EPG has many gaps in the display, although the programs are still available to view.
I have carried out a scan without the aerial to delete the EPG and re-scanned but the problem persists I see that a lot of viewers have reported the same problem so it is safe to assume that it isn't end-user equipment at fault but a transmission or software problem. ISN'T THERE SUPPOSED TO BE SOMEONE OUT THERE TO SORT OUT PROBLEMS?

Surprise! Surprise! My EPG is restored without any help from me. Which only confirms that someone messed up when the re-scan was instigated.
Well done Someone!

Hi iv been having a signal problem for a few months now and it seems to be getting worse. Having done the scanning reset on this site I now have no freeview channels on my TV.
My postcode is sa54nf which I believe runs from the carmel transmitter. I have already done a freeview coverage check and a check to see any problems with the transmitter.
We have a roof aerial, with direct aerial supply to rooms from sockets in each of the bedrooms. There are two tvs using the roof aerial, both in bedrooms, and the one has most channels yet the other (which so happens to be mine) has none, or if I'm lucky I sometimes pick up its channels. We already have an aerial splitter but do not know how to solve this problem
Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks in advance

Charlotte : Problems of this sort are usually caused by a defective connection somewhere in the aerial system, if indeed not actually on the aerial itself where the coax is terminated into the junction box.
If the splitter referred to is accessible? try removing the aerial connection into splitter and couple it directly into one of the TV's followed by retuning same, if Freeview has returned then this points to the splitter having failed "if" its of the powered variety, a powered splitter possibly being necessary in your area judging by the result of a terrain check carried out using the post code supplied, this indicating that the signal paths from both the Carmel and Kilvey Hill transmitters are completely blocked at approximately 2 miles prior your location.
Needless to say, that if nothing is received when the aerial is coupled directly into the TV, then this points to the problem being with the actual aerial, or possibly the coax cable to same.
Further advice dependant on feedback.

Hello
I have just tried to talk my mother through setting up her freeview recorder for a programme tonight to find that the EPG does not contain programmes for Ch4 or 5 and a number of others. I then tried on my TV with the same problem. Sh lives I Nottingham and I live in South Shropshire.
I don't believe it is a proble with my or her device. What has gone wrong?
