I quoted from the information provided to me by the design teams of 2 diffwerent TV manufacturers with whom I am acting as an independent consultant and have done for several years. Between them they have far more knowledge and understanding of the real world of TV reception. I cannot fault them in their knowledge and understanding.

How nice for you, the real world in the preceding posts just doesn't agree with your earlier comments, so give it a rest.

MikeP: here's a simple one for you. I quite regularly see 100% signal strength and quality on TVs that have a signal of 45dbuv this is at the bottom end of what signal should be for perfect reception. You will see the same signal on the tv if you are getting 85dbuv. You can only tell if you have too much signal with a proper meter not what is in the tv or freeview box. Put quite simply the 100% what a TVs show is quite useless. If it is running through a amplifier sometime they go faulty and cause break up on channels and not on others you can only test on a meter and see the signal bouncing around.

Exactly that. I was waiting for an appropriate time to mention a particular example, and now is the time.
I came across someone's (quite cheap) PVR - it required a microSD card to record.
No matter what signal strength it was actually fed with, it ALWAYS showed 100% strength (I did wonder after a while whether it was actually showing quality rather than strength - it wasn't showing "both" figures).
This box had an extremely good picture quality - far better than the Samsung TV it was plugged into, and excellent quality sound. It was a brilliant little HD box, never had any problems with picture or sound breakup both before and after DSO, until its PSU failed - sad demise.

Tony jones:

I doubt it, in the foreseeable future. The only T2 HD multiplex on Light transmitters is the PSB3/BBCB one, and the recently available capacity there they chose to lease out to TBN UK rather than put BBC4 & CBeebies HD on there, obviously they must be financially better off doing that!
So the answer to the question is unlikely to change from the last time the question was asked.

Peter Jannece:

Do you get other HD Channels? If so which ones?
BBC4HD is on the temporary COM7 multiplex and whether you receive it will depend upon your location and which transmitter you get signals from. We'd need a full postcode to advise on that.
