Below are all of StevensOnln1's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Mark-T: COM8 has already closed last year. There is no confirmed date for COM7 to close, however it's licence is due to expire in the middle of 2022 and could close sooner if the winner of the 700MHz centre gap SDL spectrum (now due to be auctioned by Ofcom next month) gives 3 months notice, although this seems unlikely as there are currently no phones or other 5G devices available which support the 700MHz SDL band, so it seems likely that COM7 will be around for another year or so.
Nothing has been announced yet regarding what will happen to BBC Four HD (or any other channels) when COM7 eventually closes.

Mr Brian JE Teasdale: Sony Channel and Sony Movies Classic are both carried on the local TV multiplex, which is only available in areas with a local TV station on Freeview channel 7 or 8. There is a local mux broadcast from Pontop Pike, however I believe it is directional towards Newcasle and may not provide a strong signal in other directions.

Celeste Parsons: Are you talking about Freeview, Freesat or this unofficial technical help website? What has changed in the last year that is causing a particular problem for you?

Alan Green: The text above the comments form makes it pretty clear that you are posting a public comment and not sending a private message. If you misunderstood that or posted by mistake, I can only suggest that you contact the site owner as nobody else can remove any posts.

James Buchanan: How far away are you from the (very low power) Moffat relay? Is your aerial on the roof, in the loft or are you using an indoor/set top aerial and is it still pointing in the correct direction?

Peter Hearne: TalkSport 2 is carried on the SDL National multiplex which is broadcast from far fewer transmitters than the D1 National multiplex which carries TalkSport. Morecambe may be getting a better signal SDL from the Moel-y-Parc transmitter in North Wales, possibly even reinforced by the Divis transmitter in Northern Ireland. The only other SDL transmitter in North West England is at Winter Hill, which quite far away and radio signals tend to travel less well over land than they do over water.

Bob: We need a full postcode to see the predicted signal strength at your location (or one from a nearby shop/pub/school/church etc). I can't see any reports of any recent faults or planned engineering work at Crystal Palace. When you tidied behind your TV, did you bunch the cables up together? If so, try separating them out again as some HDMI cables which aren't well screened are a known source of electrical interference, which UHF channel 55 seems to be particularly susceptible to.
I would avoid having your aerial realigned to another transmitter, as COM7 is a temporary service which is expected to close next year when it's licence ends.

Owen Phillipz: This is not the website of any TV or radio station, try contacting That's TV (formerly Bay TV Swansea) via their website That's TV THE HOME OF CLASSIC TV if you're looking to advertise with them.

Peter: Have you checked that you're definitely tuned to the correct frequencies for Varteg Hill and not Carmel? Have you checked with another radio which is not connected to the same aerial?
There is a phone number on the BBC Reception Advice contact page, where you can leave a message for someone to call your back, as well as a contact form to report technical faults.

w,s.elsmore: All DAB transmitters are virtically polarised, there aren't any using horizontal polarity.
