Graham Guthrie: how old is your aerial and have you had that checked?

Well the block I am in was opened about 8 years ago. So I guess it hasn't been replaced since.

Graham Guthrie: so it is a shared system if that's the case changing the fly lead from the wall to the tv could rectify your problem the cheap white ones you can buy are rubbish what you need is good quality coax with proper coax plugs on each end. Try that it could work.

Yes it's a shared signal Nx I just have a white cable

However I thought with the signal quality and strength being ok the lead must be ok.

Graham Guthrie: a new tv is more likely to be faulty out of the box but are any one else complaining of poor picture quality. But those cheap leads are rubbish you should only use good quality leads with proper coax and pluge not pre made ones.

No people in the block are picking up hd channels just not sure if it was because of the poor aerial. Cheers for your help

Graham Guthrie: Interesting! as that puts a different complexion on the problem all together, that is provided that the others referred to in the block actually do have HD capable TV's fitted with DVB-T2 tuners? as by rights you should have really good reception from Belmont.

Pity you cant try the short wire instead of the communal aerial test? because if your signal from Belmont is powerful then reception of sorts should be possible on about 6 feet of wire connected into the TV's aerial socket, this being followed by either carrying out an auto-tune or alternatively manually tuning in C28 as this channel would not be listed in the programme guide.

If though you have an engineer paying you a visit tomorrow, then an update on the outcome of said visit would be appreciated.

Why do we suffer fairly frequent signal break up usually more on ITV channels.
I begin to wonder if there is a spy from Sky who interrupts purposely so people switch to Sky for reliability I know a few people on this Caravan park who have done this.If my aerial set up is O.K. for say a week then suddenly I am told to check my aerial installation or retune yet again.

Cont.as there is no digital service available!!
But there is on the BBC channels.
Sorry to be a pain but I was hardly able to record myself on the North Norfolk Railway
from Anglia "Look East" doing an article on career changes yesterday At 6 pm. Very frustrating.
Thank you for your concern (in advance)
Gordon Rossiter.
