To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:

Try this:

1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;

2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;

3) wait 30 seconds;

4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;

5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;

6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;

7) do a complete scan for channels again.

The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

We have a Panasonic DVD recorder and freeview box. Since retuning yesterday we have lost all BBC channels. We can still watch BBC through the normal TV so I don't know if it's a problem with the box. Have retuned several times but still no luck! Any ideas??

I've lost Group 2 Freeview from the Sudbury mast for the past two or three days. We live in sight of the mast and both televisions pick up on indoor aerials. I've retuned but so far without any luck. The official info seems to say there are no problems with the mast at present, but our reception was perfect a few days ago and I don't see why things should have changed.

We usually switch off the tv and digital box at night, but after being told to retune two days ago, BBC2, BBC3 and BBC News always vanish overnight, needing another retune. No other channels seem affected - BBC1, BBC4 and many others are still there - so I don't think it's the box. Are there any unreported problems with Emley Moor? Yorkshire is switching digital this year so they may be doing work and not saying anything.

Like many others I have lost ITV4,Film4& Yesterday Channels; having retuned. I am furious because I recently purchasd a new TV and had a digital aerial installed with a power booster to receive these Channels. My postcode is BS48 2US; is there anything that can be done to retrieve these channels?

@Briantist - Quote - Some people will find, however, that the change to 64QAM mode (to provide Sky Sport 1 and 2 for BT Vision users) will result in the loss of multiplex COM6/ARQB until later in the year. Mendip transmitter - January 11th retune required | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Do you really think this is an acceptable situation for the customer?

Saturday/15th. Jan. very poor freeview reception in the Alderby area near Beccles, this affected BBC and ITV channels.
Sunday morning, no reception on BBC channels, ITV channels working okay. Can you tell me when I will be able to view all channels properly and with confidence.

I look forward to your prompt reply.

Thank you.
