My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Paul: If you havent already done so, you should carry out a factory reset on the box, or alternatively make a complete scan without the aerial being connected to blank out the EPG memory, then carry out a second scan after re-connecting.

d turner: You should check the channel number associated with the signal strength on ITV1 etc to make sure that your aren't picking up an alternative station.
You are indicated as being (in theory) being able to receive from more than one station, and if its Tacolneston then the match is BBC1 Mux Ch63 / ITV1 Mux Ch60, or if Sudbury BBC1 Mux Ch44 / ITV1 Mux Ch41.
If you find an incorrect match then you may have to use manual tuning to correct this after having first of all blanked out the EPG memory by scanning without the aerial being connected, then manually entering the channel required, once completed use the "add channels" or "find other channels" to load the remainder.

I have suddenly lost the ability to record "series" programmes on my freeview DGR. I am still able to record single programmes but about a few weeks ago I suddenly lost the colour button on screen which records any series.I have been told by my set top manufacturer (Luxor) that this is a transmission problem but I am not convinced. Can you please advise.

Great idea digital tv. I now get nothing at all from Kiddy or Sutton. Still, great way to save me wasting my time watching tv. Hope the advertisers on ITV don't mind loosing their customers. Have done all the 'reset' games, still nothing. Lets face it, it was a really bad idea from the start.

Ben, Certain boxes are not compatible with 8k transmission modes, you should check the listings to see.

Ask in a proper manner and I'm sure Brian will be happy to advise you.

Ron, Ben is merely feeling the frustration that thousands of users feel. It simply appears to be in the lap of the gods as to what we end up with.

We live in York and access the Emley Moor transmitter. Currently we are receiving a "no signal" rating when we try to scan. We have deleted all of the channels and rescanned several times and nothing changes. We have tried digital manual tuning as well. Again, nothing. Can you help in any way?

Brian sorry I did not give you enough information in previous post. My post code is yo30 and i thought you could be right about the signal strenth being to high as I have my aerial into an antifreance AZ81LR amplifier. the amp has a High output and standard to start with i connected to the high output so i changed to the standard the signal has gone to 50% but now quite a few of the channels that I could get now say no signal. I keep performing reset and re tune but every time i do I get less channels. I dont know why because the signal strenth has been increased
but when i check it its lower than before dso

My tv is a Grundig with built in Freeview that was working fine until last week. It's now pixellating badly and the sound disappears as the picture stalls. Can anyone help because I am struggling to watch any tv at all, it's difficult to follow a programme!
Thanks.
