My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Quest is carried on the COM4/"SDN" multiplex.
If the sets have a manual tune option, try manually tuning to C25 for SDN.

Is there a problem with the 7 day EPG ? Since the first retune and again after the second. Many of my channels BBC 1/2 , 5USA and others for example only offer an EPG for the next 1 or 2 days. I thought channels were required to publish a 7 day EPG ? I access the Crystal Palace Tuner

Since my earlier post I have checked again and it seems we have lost all of the channel 28 stations since retuning our Grundig Freeview box - I have just followed instructions given on this site by clearing all settings and doing a complete new 1st time installation, and again channel 28 stations are missing (Film 4 etc). I have just also tried a manual scan for channel 28 and nothing shows up. I live in NW3. Our flat uses a house-shared roof-top aerial by the way. As mentioned in earlier post our spare tv with a set-top plug-in indoor aerial and built-in Freeview receiver has all channels working fine since retuning on 18th April. Any ideas to resolve this please?

I have two freeview boxes which have not been used for two years. I have just tried to rescan both of them but cannot find any channels at all. The antenna is one that is in constant use for other freeview equipment. Is it possible that the boxes were not designed to cope with the channel reorganization that took place this April?
Boxes in question:
Pace DTVA-UK Model 543-10005500
Pace DTR735-PP

Philip Stokes:
I'm afraid those boxes are no longer of any use. Please see

Hope this helps,

As of 19th April my Humax digi box has lost all channels & says 'no or bad signal'. I've tried the retune above. We were using a signal from Crystal Palace, should this still be OK?

Amanda: You should always provide a post code (or one from nearby, shop etc) with this type of query as the signal levels expected cannot be checked on, however it should be appreciated that no or weak signal can also be indicated "if" the signal received is excessively high as it blocks the tuner, and so to eliminate this possibly applying if you have access to a set top aerial plug that into your box and carry out another retune.

Florence: What has been mentioned to Amanda will very likely apply to your own situation, although locations (post codes) should always be given as anyone advising is inclined to be in the dark without them by being unable to use the reception predictor, as this also indicates the power etc of the various transmitter involved.
