I have now lost all signal can you tell me what the problem might be?
Brian Butterworth published on UK Free TV The problem could be one of:
- the aerial has been moved or damaged;
- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;
- the digibox has broken.
If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

Hi just wondering if you can help. I have lost all my channels on my freeview box a few days ago. But I had them all until then. I have my own Ariel on my roof and I have re-scanned 5 times and it says every time no channels found. Please help I can't afford a huge bill for someone to come out and have two young toddler to keep entertained in this cold weather whilst I tidy up lol. And I'm sick off watching the same DVDs day in day out now lol. Thanks x

stacy lee: A location is really required with queries of this sort, this in the form of a post code or at least one from nearby, a shop etc, as its impossible to check on the status of the transmitter that covers your area without this knowledge.
That said though, what you have mentioned suggests a possible fault with your aerial system, the box itself being a secondary suspect reason, and so if at all possible you should try and test it out on someone elses aerial, or their box on yours.

Nick Short: I would look towards your aerial system as being the most likely cause of your complaint as Crystal Palace (@ 25 miles) is indicated as being the main station that covers your location.
If by any chance you are using a booster amp then try by-passing it as its internal power unit could have failed (not exactly uncommon!) and when that happens the booster immediately becomes an attenuator.
Another test you could try is, that even although the screen might be blank carry out a signal check on BBC1, because although nothing is seen the signal could still be there but running at under the reception threshold of your receiver and this type of test will reveal if it is or not.
It should be noted that this test will not work if you have carried out a retune since the problem occurred, but you can still carry out a check by going into any of your devices tuning menu's / manual tune and entering mux channel 23 (C/Palaces BBC) but do NOT press search or scan, because "if" the signal is there then no matter what the strength, it will be shown on the level indicator.
Maybe though you could give an update regarding the type of aerial set up you use.

Hi
I'm in a flat with a communal aerial and all freeview channels were lost this weekend. It's a 3-year old digital TV (toshiba) with built in freeview, connected to the aerial at the wall. The TV in the bedroom is connected to a booster aerial only and freeview work's perfectly - however I have tried using the booster aerial in the problem TV and there is no improvement.
I'm living in the CW8 postcode.
Any help would be mucch appreciated.

I've just got back from a 2 week holiday, and my upstairs tv/freeview isn't working, but my downstairs one is.
My mum said while we were away, her's flashed up about re tuning else you'll lose channels....however it just says "NO SIGNAL" and downstairs works? HELP

i am never going to complain about programmes on tv again!! 22 years never had any problems and now not seen any bbc channels for the last 5 weeks and we are having to re-tune about 10 times a night!36 channels one night 64 channels the next night but mostly 10 and not even any radio channels..nightmare this is.I live in Bangor,N.wales LL57 4TL and my aeriel is facing the llanddona mast.1 year old LG tv with built in freeview and no other tv,s work at all in my house.Any clues!!

tony rowlands: As you are located at only 6 miles away from the transmitter its very likely that your TV's tuner is being overloaded by the strong BBC signal and which can cause blocking of reception. If you have any form of booster fitted then this must by by-passed, but though just for a test if you can borrow a set top aerial connect that into the TV and carry out another auto tune to see what results you get.
Sometimes even a short length of wire (about 3 / 4 feet) connected into the aerial socket can give results of sorts dependant on your surrounding terrain.
By the way the BBC and ITV stations are twice as powerful as the commercial channels.
Further advice dependant on results.

tony rowlands: Meant also to request that you provide the model number of your LG, as some models have a built in booster which should be switched off.
