Ken: Try and follow jb38's instruction above your comment as your problem sounds very similar to Anne Sharp's issue.

KGM: Before my last post I did a first time installation, which deletes the previous channel list. When this failed I removed the aerial lead and retuned as recommended by jb38. I confirmed the list was empty before retuning again with the aerial reconnected.

The problem remains. Channel 15 empty & Film4 on 791. Today the retune message has gone from Film4 on 791.

It's looking like this situation is permanent.

Who can I contact for official help on this problem ?

thanks

Similar to Andy, we have lost Film4 on Freeview. We live in Herefordshire and get our signal from Gloucestershire.
Although it sounded like a long shot, we tried jb38's suggestion but that did not work, sadly.

I have managed to solve the missing Film4 using information from here Digital UK - Missing channels or wrong news service?
I selected Freeview 15 and did a manual search, when I found it had been automatically tuned to Ch29. The web link above indicated it should be on Ch25 at my address, which I changed to. I now have Film4 back on 15.

So, good for now. But next time a retune is needed will I have to go through the same process again ?

All this so 4G mobile and Freeview don't interfere with each other. Good bit of planning !! (GL523ES)

Ken: With regards to you possibly having to go through the same process again, the answer is "no", and with this no matter which one of Ridge Hills two ITV transmitters your TV or box might happen to be tuned to as Film4 is being added to all PSB2 (ITV1) mux transmitters.

The only reason that I can think of for you not being able to view it on Ch29 was that Film4's stream had not been added to Ridge Hills West facing PSB2 mux on Ch29 at the time you had carried out the rescan, as the additions were not all carried out at the same time as each other, this fact only being revealed by your TV or box having for some reason or another decided to bypass Ch25 in favour of Ch29 during the rescan, although the usual reason for this happening is through a glitch having occurred in the signal at the time the rescan was being carried out.

bikeman: Film4 on any properly retuned equipment is on the the PSB2 multiplex (ITV1 etc) with programme guide number 15, however in some instances it might also be seen on 791 simply because that its original stream on COM6 has not as yet been removed on some transmitters, in other words its being transmitted on two different multiplexes at the same time, PSB2 and COM6.
