By providing a full postcode (such as W1A 1AA), national grid reference (for example SE123456) or latitude, longitude pair (like 54, -0.5) this page will provide a map, terrain plot and detailed information of the location showing the UK and RoI television transmitters that it is possible you receive Freeview, Freeview HD, Youview, BT TV and Saorview from.

(Don't know your postcode? Find it at Post Office Postcode finder).

UK Free TV uniquely shows you transmitter coverage maps, aerial to transmitter terrain plots, the closest 10 mobile phone masts (for possible 5G-at-800 interference) as well as tabulated information (sorted by direction, by received signal strength, by frequency, by service names or by transmitter name).

My rooftop wideband aerial is aimed at Storeton . Will I need to re-aim it at Winter Hill to restore BBC4 HD and the other channels that I can't get at the moment ? or will they be restored on Storeton in due course. ?

Tamsin Mc Cormick: BBC Four HD is on the COM8 multiplex, which has never been broadcast from Storeton. Depending on your location, you must have been picking it up from either Winter Hill or Moel-Y-Parc.

Aerial is on chimney breast where it has been since 1993 although a new aerial was installed about 2000

MR G A LEWIS: so your aerial is 20 years old, I would get it checked by a professional nothing lasts for ever.

His other post is more relevant in the first instance, others are having similar problems.

Chris.SE: I have lost BBC1 Yorkshire and ITV Yorkshire (Calandar news) since the retune on 12th February and now I only get North East from the Bilsdale transmitter. I live in Bradford BD7 4PW. I cannot get a good signal from Emley Moor due to a hill so I think my aerial is pointing towards the Keighley transmitter. Do I need to get my roof aerial looked at as I live in a flat complex with a communal aerial system? I want my Look North and Calendar news back from Yorkshire!

Stuart Swaine: If you have a communal aerial system then you need to get in touch with whoever is responsible for maintaining that system and get them to investigate, although that may not be a high priority for them given the current health situation.

Stuart Swaine:

See if your neighbours have similar problems!
The stupid thing here is that the Freeview Detailed Coverage predictor suggests that Bilsdale is the preferred transmitter, yet it's only predicting good coverage for the 3 main PSB multiplexes, none for COMs4-6 and potentially variable from the COMs7&8 multiplexes, BUT it's predicting GOOD reception from Emley Moor for the six main multiplexes PSBs1-3, COMs4-6.
It's also predicting no coverage from Keighley for the 3 main multiplexes, yet good for COMs4-6 !

It's try a full retune as well as checking what the situation is with neighbours.
Unplug your aerial and carry out a full automatic retune which should clear all previous tuning as no channels will be found. With the aerial then plugged back in, if you can carry out a manual retune on the specific UHF channels that will be the best way (if you can't do a manual retune you'll have to do an automatic one).

I'll list the UHF channels for each of your potential transmitters in the order PSBs1-3, COMs4-6 & separately for COMs 7&8. Note PSB3 and COMs7&8 are HD multiplexes so if your set doesn't have an HD TUNER, you won't get them. I also suggest you try the PSB1/BBCA multiplex first, on YOUR preferred transmitters first, to see exactly what you can/are picking up, then carry on with the other UHF channels for that transmitter.

Emley Moor - 47, 44, 41. 33, 36, 48 unlikely to get COMs7&8 (on UHF 55&56)
Keighley - 40, 43, 46, 29, 31, 37 (no COMs7&8)
Bilsdale - 27, 24, 21, 43, 46, 40 (note COMs4-6 no prediction), COMs 7&8 are on UHF 55&56.

If you and your neighbours all got Yorkshire before, and it's now set up for Bilsdale (Tyne Tees), you may care to ask you building management why the aerial installers have changed transmitters in view of what you previously received quite satisfactorily and the fact that the predicted reception from Emley Moor is good. (I will say however that the predictors are always 100% correct, but I'm going on what you previously received as well!).

Stuart Swaine:

Sorry, to add to the above, if it's Bilsdale that it's set up for, Bilsdale has Planned Engineering this week with "Possible Service Interruptions", so if you happen to retune when a channel is off-air you'll get nothing, try again later!
