Paul J:

Glad that worked for you, but it is always a 'last resort' solution. So what problem were you trying to resolve?

Frank:

If you look at the predicted reception at you location, shown on Coverage Checker - Detailed View you will see that reception from all the possible transmitters is likely to be problematic.

Channel 82 is on COM7 and Channel 94 is on COM8. Both are lower power multiplexes and both require the use of a Freeview HD television.

Please will you go to the manual tuniong page of your TV settings and look at the signal strength shown for both programmes They are on the actual channels 55 and 56 (82 and 94 are the 'Logical Channel Numbers [LCNs]). then report the strangths show back here. DO NOT RETUNE.

Peter Benson:

It is likely that you are in an area served by a Freeview Light transmitter which only provides the PSB channels. Please give your full post code then we can check which of the over 1100 transmitters you are likely to be using.

NasS:

The issue is at your end as the Crystal Palace transmitter, servicing more than 4 million homes, has no faults at present.

For some TVs, 100% signal strength is too high and some don't even like 90%. So it will be worth trying to reduce the strength a little to test what happens. Use a 3 dB coaxial attenuator fitted in the signal feed by adding a separate flylead with the attenuator at the joint between your original aerail cable and the flylead, the other end of the flylead being plugged into your TV's input socket. Then recheck the signal strengths fo all multiplexes again and observe what the effect on the pictures and sound is like. DO NOT RETUNE.

Robert Irvine:

In all locations you now need a wideband aerial fitted.

As you have not provided the full post code requested, we have no idea what the expected reception conditions are like at your location, please provide that full post code.

The issue wil turning on your Humax box could well be that the cables are running too close together. It has been noticed by others that HDMI cables can affect other connected devices. So move everything as far apart as is reasonably possible and try again.

John Clark:

Looking at the Digital UK Coverage Checker, at Coverage Checker - Detailed View it shows you are in a very difficult location for terrestrial TV signal. Hence it is not unexpected that you get significant reception problems.

The best solution is to use Freesat instead of Freeview.

The site owner has not been able to complete the updates as yet after a period of forced absence. Best to use the Digital UK Covergae Checker and other utilities.

Val:

It is highly unlikely that any Italian programmes are broadcast from any terrestrial transmitter in the UK and the Italian ones are far too far away to receive in the UK, plus there are several mountains in the way. It is also unlikely that any satellite transmission aimed at Italian viewers would be receiveable in the UK.

The one possibility for you to research is whether any of the channels you are interested in provide a streaming service on-line.
