Me at Home: Hemel Hempstead transmitter uses UHF channels 40/43/46/37/31/29 and is predicted to give good reception at your postcode. Hemel Hempstead Town uses 41/44/47 and is also predicted to be good at your postcode. The local mux on C34 from Hemel Hempstead is not showing on the prediction for your postcode.

Tim Burnhill: There are no faults showing for the Whitby transmitter. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?

SJ Dunnett: There is no such thing as a digital aerial. An aerial is a piece of metal which receives radio waves and does not know or care whether they are analogue or digital. The prediction for your postcode shows that you should get a good signal from the Mendip transmitter, although you are 52km away so you would be better off having an aerial fitted on the roof (of maybe in the loft) rather than trying to use an indoor aerial.

John Day, M & Hoad: It looks like the transmitter was off air for a couple of hours earlier this evening, although the Radio & Television Investigation Service reports that it was fixed just after 9pm.

Greg Leonard: PBS America is on the COM8 multiplex which changed frequency at Rowridge a few weeks ago and can now be found on UHF channel 56. If you can't restore it by manual tuning then you most likely have a Group A aerial which is not designed to receive the new frequency. If you don't have satellite or cable you may be eligible to have a replacement wideband aerial fitted free of charge, which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

nick horrex: According to Digital UK, the only retune still due to take place at Sudbury will happen on 1st August. I'm not sure why you would need to keep buying new aerials, official advice has been to fit a wideband type for around 20 years now.

jeffrey mcewan : This is not 5Spike's website and no one here has any influence over which programs are shown on any channel. You would be better off contacting the broadcaster via their own website.

Peter K: 100% signal stength is too high and can overload the tuner. Search for the article on this website titled "Too much of a good thing" and try an attenuator.

Linda Greenway: If it's happening at the same time every day, the most likely explanation is that you're suffering from electrical interference being generated by something operating on a timer (probably something with an electric motor such as a central heating pump).

peter: There are no faults showing for the Penaligon Down transmitter. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections? Have you checked with any neighbours whether they're having any problems with Freeview? Do not attempt to retune.
