Gulam: Sony Crime Channel recently moved to the local TV multiplex. If you have a local TV service available on either channel 7 or 8 then retune and Sony Crime Channel should reappear.

Dave: The reality is that Dave and Quest are commercial channels and their owners are not prepared to pay for their channels to be broadcast from over 1,000 additional transmitters in order to go from covering 90% of UK households from 80-90 transmitters to covering 98.5% of households from 1,100+ transmitters. If you only get the Freeview Lite service and want more channels then you should look at getting Freesat, which has most of the same channels that available on full service Freeview transmitters, for a one off cost of a box and dish plus installation (just the box if the property has previously had Sky).

roger waterhouse: Virgin Radio is on the SDL National multiplex which is broadcast on VHF block 11A (216.928MHz). Most DAB radios will find all available stations automatically by using the scan/autotune function, although many older radios do not scan below block 11B unless a full scan/rest of world scan is activated (the UK originally only used VHF block 11B and higher when DAB was first introduced).

Robin: Most likely nothing is wrong with the transmitter. There is currently high atmospheric pressure over various parts of the UK, which causes signals from distant transmitters which would not normally be receivable to interfere with the signal which you are trying to receive. This is an entirely natural phenomenon which has been known about and understood by broadcast engineers for over 50 years and there is nothing that can be done about it. If the problems continue after the high pressure has ended then further investigation is needed to find the cause of the problem. In any case, do not attempt to retune as this will not fix anything and will likely make the problem worse.

Steve Hampton: According to Digital UK, PSB1/BBCA is due to move to UHF channel 48 at Whitehawk Hill during the final quarter of this year. Various other multiplexes will also change frequency at the same time.

Geoff: Retuning was the worst thing to do as you have now deleted all of your channels which were correctly tuned to begin with (TVs don't just suddenly loose their tuning data). The last analogue TV services closed in 2012 so you won't find any analogue channels. Over on the Mendip transmitter page an engineering notice has appeared showing that the transmitter was off air for a period of time overnight (this would have also affected relays that take their signal from Mendip). You will therefore need to retune again now that the transmitter is back on air in order to restore your channels.

Gwenno Jones-Williams: According to the engineering posts which have appeared below yours, the transmitter was off air for a few hours overnight.

Magie Carter-Ebbels: Retuning was the worst thing to do as you have now deleted all of your channels which were previously correctly tuned, making it much more difficult to find the cause of the problem. There is nothing showing for the Salisbury transmitter, however if you are actually receiving Mendip (there are areas where signal from both overlaps) then you would have lost signal for a few hours overnight due to engineering work. Your only real option now is to retune again and see if your channels come back, then start looking for a fault if they don't.

Mrs Horsbrough: No one from this website has done anything with your programmes as no one here has any connection with Travel Channel or any other broadcaster. Discovery (the owner of Travel Channel) has announced that it is being removed from Freeview today, to be replaced with DMAX. See the article at the link below for details.

Andrew Jamieson: What signal strength and quality readings do you get for Yesterday on your main TV? What signal strength and quality do you get for other commercial channels such as Dave or Drama? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc. Also, can you confirm that the separate aerial for your bedroom TV is mounted on the roof or in the loft, or is it a set top aerial?
