By providing a full postcode (such as W1A 1AA), national grid reference (for example SE123456) or latitude, longitude pair (like 54, -0.5) this page will provide a map, terrain plot and detailed information of the location showing the UK and RoI television transmitters that it is possible you receive Freeview, Freeview HD, Youview, BT TV and Saorview from.
(Don't know your postcode? Find it at Post Office Postcode finder).
UK Free TV uniquely shows you transmitter coverage maps, aerial to transmitter terrain plots, the closest 10 mobile phone masts (for possible 5G-at-800 interference) as well as tabulated information (sorted by direction, by received signal strength, by frequency, by service names or by transmitter name).

I have moved from Grassington to skipton and have freeview built in on my (new) HD tv. But since the move i have lost over half of the freeview channels and the guide menu is out of sync. I have tried re-tuning but with no joy. I've heard parts of skipton have bad freeview reception, is this true?

Lizzy: Unfortunately that would appear to be the case, as a quick tour around the rooftops in and around your area reveals a series of "vertically" mounted aerials facing the Skipton Town Freeview - light - PSB only transmitter, although in some cases further away from your particular location pointing towards Skipton or Sutton In Craven Freeview - light transmitters.
The reason for highlighting "vertical" being, that most aerials used for reception from full service transmitters such as Winter Hill as was previously used when you resided in Grassington (but not now receivable) use horizontally mounted aerials, none of seen on any rooftops anywhere near to your location.

Lizzy: I doubt you'll be able to receive the Commercial (COM) Freeview channels at your location. Due to the terrain in the area there a number of relay transmitters that don't carry the COM channels.
Judging by Google Streetview photos you are likely to be using Skipton or Skipton Town transmitter. Due to the fact that you are very low-lying you aren't able to receive the full service directly from Emley Moor.

All Freeview HD channels are suddenly giving me "No Signal" - although I'm sure I was receiving BBC One HD this lunch time (22nd April).

I can now report receiving some brief and garbled flashes of a few HD channels, and so the problem seems to be a sudden and catastrophic drop in signal quality from the Crystal Palace transmitter.

I've started receiving the HD channels from BBCB again, but I'm still not receiving any of the HD channels from COM such as BBC 4 HD and BBC News HD.

Has anyone else spotted problems with information from Digital UK? I live in North London, N6 5SQ and like most of my neighbours use Alexandra Palace for free view. Yet DUK state AP offers a poor signal and the best transmitter for my area is Crystal Palace, but this transmitter has always been marred by problems with ghosting and reflections.
Second point, I have a free sat box for the extra channels AP doesn't provide. Disappointed that the new London live channel isn't on AP or free sat.
Does anyone know if it is included in the free sat from sky package? I don't want to pay for TV but know that Sky and Virgin offer London live for a charge for viewers not able to use Crystal Palace.

Hi All,
Finally discovered a way to pose a question on this site! I have posed a question in the past but couldn't remember how I did it, old age creeping in!
I live in Newhaven East Sussex and my nearest transmitter is in Newhaven, just down the road as a matter of fact, the problem is the Newhaven transmitter is a "light " one so I have to point my aerial towards Whitehawk Hill in Brighton, since I don't want a tall pole attached to my chimney (It gets windy here on the coast) and I live in a bungalow so the pole would be a long one! my aerial is in the attic, I can receive most of the Freeview programmes but not all, is there any possibility that Newhaven will ever change to a full supplier?
