Hi, I am using an older Freeview box, an STB2009 by Technosonic. Will I have limited channels on this box? I don't seem able to get QVC or Dave etc, but I have the normal channels such as BBC's and ITV's etc. The signal is not very good though.
Thanks

Jackie: If you are receiving from Sandy Heath transmitter then if your aerial has not been replaced from the days of four-channel analogue you may need it replacing. The reason being that it is less sensitive on the higher frequencies that ITV3, Dave, Pick TV, Film4 and others use.

Hi. I have a roof aerial and have recently lost five of the six muxes on a 90% basis. We now only have the ch5 set of channels. Aerial is pointing towards the mendip transmitter and had no problems until this friday morning. Seems as though something is interfering as worked perfectly for an hour last night between 1930 and 2030 then lost all but ch5 signal again. Weather appears not to be an issue and problem on all freeview devices in house. Rescanned boxes after frequency changes and had no problems until now. Rescanned boxes and all channels found but no signal indicated on screen for all but one mux. Could this be 4g interference? Not aware of any announced testing in our area as of yet though. Any advice greatly appreciated as our 2 yr old is miffed there's no cbeebies.

Hi, I have a Samsung tv, model number LE40D503F7W, that has lost the majority of Freeview channels. We have a TV upstairs that still has all the channels, so I am assuming this is something wrong with the Samsung TV rather than the reception but due to results from a retune, I'm reluctant to do so with the upstairs TV.
About 3 weeks ago after some particularly bad weather in Nottingham we lost all channels on the EPG. After a retune we were left with 19 TV channels (1 - BBC1, 2 - BBC2, 3 - ITV1, 4 - Channel 5, 5 - Channel 5, 6 - ITV2, 7 - BBC 3, 8 - BBC4, 13 - 4+1, 14 - More 4, 28 - E4, 33 - ITV+1, 70 - CBBC, 70 - Cbeebies, 80 - BBC NEWS, 81 -BBC Paliament, 200 Red button, 301, 302) along with 11 radio stations (all BBC radio stations).
We have a roof ariel fitted which was brand new last July, so I doubt the issue lies with that. I have tried a factory reset on the TV along with changing the country that the TV is based in (changed it to Swizerland, auto tuned, changed back to UK then auto tuned) but I still only have 19 TV channels and 11 radio stations.
I am about to give a manual tune a go (even though my postcode isn't registered on this website, new build house) to see if I have any success that way.
Is there anything else I can do? (53.0434,-1.1851)

Hia ive got a goodmans freeview recordable box and up dated my stations now it wont store itv channels it looses them when i switch the power of at nights can any one help please

john: It's probably due to the tuner running out of memory. The clue is that the ITV channels are picked up last during the scan (i.e. on the highest frequency).
It probably results from signals from other transmitters being picked up first, filling the memory.
Without knowledge of your transmitter is not possible to say whether this might apply here.
Based on your previous postings, you are probably using Winter Hill whose ITV signal is on the highest channel. The answer may be to have the aerial lead out for the first 50% of the scan. If, having done this, you are missing some other channels then try getting the aerial lead in a bit sooner.

I am having problems with freeview. Aerial points through Parkstone relay to see Rowridge. Aerial mounted on mast at top of garden, much higher than roof. TV seems to lock up when changing channels. Also, new mobile transmitter now being installed at bottom of Constitution Hill rd, but not on your map. Is this 4G?

Adam: Which transmitter are you using?
If it's Nottingham (Kimberley) then Sutton Coldfield is on roughly the same bearing, albeit that the former is vertically polarised and the latter is horizontally polarised.
Whichever transmitter you are using, always check to see that all channels are tuned to the desired transmitter as there may be a number of possibilities at your location.
Based on Streetview photos of Papplewich Lane, Waltham is (mainly) used in the area. Aerials for it are horizontal and it is south east from you.
Check the UHF channel or frequency given on the signal strength screen on each of the following:
PSB1 | BBC One | C61 | 794MHz
PSB2 | ITV | C54 | 738MHz
PSB3 | BBC One HD | C58 | 770MHz
COM4 | ITV3 | C29 | 538MHz
COM5 | Pick TV | C56 | 754MHz
COM6 | Film4 | C57 | 762MHz
On 29th May, as part of the clearance for 4G services, PSB1 will move to C49 (698MHz).

I live in St Ives, Cornwall and receive my signal from Caradon Hill transmitter. Myself and others in this area have hardly had any channels for the last 3 days, it is worse in the evening. It says that there is no fault with the transmitter. Please help/advise.
