Mendip, Bristol and relay transmitters - retune require on 27th March 2013
At 6am on 27th March 2013, several multiplexes will change their transmission frequencies.
Notably the main transmitters will make changes. This includes the Mendip transmitter, where the BBCA multiplex (including 1 BBC One West, 2 BBC Two England, 7 BBC Three, 9 BBC Four, 70 CBBC Channel, 71 CBeebies, 80 BBC News, 81 BBC Parliament) will move from C61 to C49.
Also changing is Bristol Kings Weston where the D3+4 multiplex (3 ITV (West), 4 Channel 4 South ads, 5 Channel 5 Part Network ads, 6 ITV 2, 13 Channel 4+1 South ads, 14 More 4, 28 E4, 33 ITV +1 (West)) will move from C50 to C40, and Bristol Ilchester Crescent where ArqivaB (15 Film 4, 18 4Music, 19 Yesterday, 21 VIVA, 24 ITV 4, 41 Sky Sports 1 (not free), 42 Sky Sports 2 (not free), 47 4seven, 83 Al Jazeera English, 85 Russia Today English,) moves from C49 to C39+.
See below for a full list of transmission masts that will make changes.
When you now rescan, you MUST do a "first time installation" or "factory reset" scan, not an "add channels". Do the procedure you did on September 30th 2009. If you can't recall what this was, please see List of manuals for Freeview retune, or try the generic clear and rescan procedure.

Pat: If you are receiving from Mendip then you aren't relying on a relay. There is a relay transmitter in Chepstow, which relays Wenvoe, and therefore carries Welsh regional programming.
Do you have one aerial on Mendip and no others connected pointing elsewhere?
If you are using a communal aerial system then the issue could perhaps be that it needs adjustment to allow the new BBC frequency through.

When I did my retuning this morning, I found that my YouView box and DVD recorder retuned without any problem. However, the TV would only retune if I plugged the aerial directly into it, rather than via the two boxes. Should I have my aerial and cabling checked? The aerial is very small, minimal number of elements, but I do live on the summit of a hill. The cabling I suspect is 40 years old, though I think the aerial may date from the start of Channel 5.
Will there be another retune when local TV starts? Will I be able to add that mux manually? If yes, on what channel?

Looks like Aquiva didn't update the Bath relay when PSB1 switched over and no one in Bath with freeview could get PSB1 for the majority of today.
I think it's all back now.

I live in Penderyn CF449QB and have lost PSB1 since the channel change. I receive BBC west from Mendip (ch49) and BBC Wales from Penderyn (ch49) via a Dat45 wideband aerial. Could one transmitter be cancelling out the signal from the other? Signal strength from Mendip is 10/10 on other muxes. Tried full retune with no aerial in and all muxes come ok except PSB1. (ch49 an) (ch49 an)

Bryn Stephens: You may have to wait until 22nd May when Penderyn vacates C49. The Digital UK prediction isn't at all good for Mendip and non-existant for the COM channels, so you must be going some.
Do you get the COM channels from Mendip? (ITV3, Pick TV, Dave, Film4 etc).

Not sure about local TV. Maybe when the powers that be make up their minds and stick with it for long enough to get off the ground...

Pat: Hello again. Not a communal aerial system and only get West Country prongs, I.e. HTV and Points West. So assume that pointing at Mendip transmitter. Will keep trying the retune. Thanks

Pat: If there's a manual tune function on your TV then tune to UHF channel 49 for BBC programmes.
