If you happen to come back reading, your predicted reception of COM8 (the multiplex that previously carried Forces TV) was somewhat variable at your location. It's still variable on COM7, the new multiplex it's now on, but fractionally poorer than it was, so you may get signal breakup from time to time.

I was watching Forces TV but it has gone from Channel 96 and is now on 789 but not watchable, just a white screen with a retune notice on it, I have retuned 7 times but to no avail, please help.

Francis James Blackwell: Forces TV has moved from COM8 to COM7, ahead of COM8 closing by the end of this month. Can you receive BBC News HD on 107, which is also on COM7?

Try unplugging the aerial and doing an automatic tune which should clear all previous tuning as no channels will be found. Plug the aerial back in and repeat the retune, hopefully all channels will be correctly restored.

Thank you all for your quick response, I removed the aerial and retuned using factory reset the first-time installation, which wiped all existing channel's, reconnected aerial and repeated the first-time installation, but nothing has changed, forces tv is still white screened on 789, however, when the tuning was taking place it showed the following, Com78National: Forces Tv, does that suggest anything to anyone, I'm afraid I am not very savvy with Tv's and the meaning of com78 is beyond me, can anyone help.
yours gratefully.

Com78 National is the name of the network consisting of the two multiplexes called COM7 and COM8:
COM7: 746 MHz, UHF C55
(
056 5USA+1
064 FreeSports
071 CBS Reality +1
072 Quest Red+1

089 Together TV+1
092 Pick+1
093 PBS America +1
096 Forces TV
106 BBC FOUR HD
107 BBC NEWS HD
109 Channel 4+1 HD
110 4seven HD
111 QVC HD
112 QVC Beauty HD
113 RT HD
114 QUEST HD
115 TJC HD
205 CBeebies HD
796 Shopping Quarter
)
COM8: 756 MHz, UHF C56
(
055 5STAR+1
069 CBS Justice +1
209 CBeebies HD
786 FreeSports
787 NOW 80s
788 PBS America +1
789 Forces TV
790 QVC HD
791 QVC Beauty HD
797 QUEST HD
798 BBC FOUR HD
799 Together TV+1
)
COM8 is closing and all the services that were on it have ether moved to other multiplexes or ceased.
In particular, Forces TV has moved to COM7.
Only retune messages remain on COM8.
Try a manual tune on 746 MHz, UHF C55.

It sounds like/I assume, you are not getting COM7 for some reason. StevensOnln1 asked you "Can you receive BBC News HD on 107, which is also on COM7?" which you haven't answered. Considering your general location you should not have any problems receiving it.
What sort of aerial do you have, where is it, how old is it? Is it still intact and pointing in the correct direction (roughly fractionally South of due West), rods horizontal? Does the downlead look undamaged, how old is it?
One of the things that can cause issues with C55 reception is HDMI leads which can radiate interference to C55. Make sure if you have any such leads they are well away from any aerial leads and flyleads.
In fact it might be best to check if this is an issue by removing/disconnecting them altogether and plugging the aerial direct into the TV and try tuning C55 again.
Also check all you coax plugs, connections, flyleads etc, unplug connectors check for corrosion or other problems and reconnect them. Flyleads can be a common problem, try swapping them.
If you are still having problems after that, we'll need more information about your installation, aerial, any booster/splitters, aerial sockets, flyleads, devices (PVRs etc) and a full postcode to look at predicted reception.

Thank you for the many reply's which, to be honest, have made my head swim somewhat, however one thing that sprang to mind was the fact that the man who fitted my HD aerial said he had balanced it across one of the beams in the attic and I'm wondering if it may have moved or fallen, so when I can climb up there I will have a look, but at 72 years of age I will have to plan how I am to achieve this, but I will get there eventually.
once more my many thank's for all your help.
With gratitude
Francis Blackwell

Francis James Blackwell: Before you plot a course to your loft aerial, and risk life and limb getting there, try a manual tune of frequency 746 MHz. If you tell us your postcode, or that of somewhere nearby, we can perhaps offer further advice.

Have tried a manual scan but nothing has changed, there again I do not know if I have done it correctly, as I said earlier Tv and retuning are completely alien to me.
My postcode is B77 5PQ, I do not know if that helps.
Thank you for trying to help.
Yours sincerely
Francis Blackwell.
