john patton: True Entertainment has moved multiplex and should be restored to your channels list by retuning. This is a decision made by the broadcaster and in this case has made the channel available to terrestrial viewers in Wales for the first time. This website is independent and has no connection with any broadcaster or transmitter company.

Mrs Susan James: It looks like Heathfield may give better reception for some channels, but still variable for others. Midhurst is predicted to be variable for most channels and poor for some. It would probably be a good idea to consult a reputable aerial installer who is familiar with the local area.

Sandra Welham: Firstly check for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV. If you're using the Otford relay you could try manual tuning on UHF channel 29 (if your TV has a manual tuning function).

Gill Hartshorne: We need some basic information such as the make and model of TV or set top box which you're using before anyone can give any more than general advice. When you say the guide goes blank, do you mean that it has no channels listed, or that the channels are there but with no program information? Continually retuning will never fix anything and is just as likely to make the problem worse.

Rory: If you provide a full postcode we can have a look at your coverage prediction and see if there are any alternative transmitters you could use.

Dave: Film4 +1 has been available on every Freeview transmitter for a long time. Last week it moved from the PSB3 multiplex to the PSB2 mux, making it receivable on any Freeview enabled TV or set top box (previously it could only be received by Freeview HD TVs/boxes).

Rory: The Oxford transmitter is only 7km away and is predicted to provide a strong signal at your location (no other transmitters are predicted to give good reception). This would suggest that the weak signal is down to a fault somewhere in your aerial system. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV, then work your way back as far as you can safely access towards the aerial.

M. Walsh: If this is only happening during periods of high pressure then it's unlikely that anything can be done. The high pressure allows radio signals to travel much further than normal, causing interference from distant transmitters which broadcast on the same frequency but which are not receivable under normal conditions.

SteveK: Film4 +1 moved from PSB3 to the PSB2 multiplex this morning. A retune should restore it (and bring you up to date with various other recent changes if your TV hasn't already updated itself).
