Steve Gill: You need a Freeview HD (DVB-T2) branded set to receive Freeview HD. A HDTV alone will not provide the service. You also need to be using a suitable transmitter. What does "Full HD Ready" actually mean? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

I am in Sark and the signal is weak in the mornin and strong after 6 at night. Why is this it makes tuning in very stressful as no signal can be acquired withour a dish at these time.

Transmitter engineering: Les Touillets is now broadcasting many of the channels you state as unavailable, including Dave Ja Vu, the various CBS and even the 'erotic' channels. They appeared after a recent retuning, so they could be very new to us here.

Glyn B.,: These channels are not listed on the official source at
Digital UK Industry - Channel listings
- perhaps you are getting a signal from the transmitter at Rowridge on the Isle of Wight or somewhere around Torquay in Devon?

Dave Falla:

That depends on exactly where you live, so please provide a full post code. Only then can we see what the expected receptions conditions are at you location. Note that indoor aerials rarely give good reception, especially if you are more than a few miles from the transmitter.

Peter Painter: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc.
