Why is the number of Freeview programmes transmitted by the Blaina transmitter so low. When will it be improved?

June Phillips: The commercial multiplex operators declined to provide their services from this transmitter many years ago. This is because the cost of providing the transmissions is more than the profit that would be made from the number of viewers. The companies (now Arqiva and ITV plc) refused the offer of frequency allocations, so these have been withdrawn. This means there will be no additional multiplexes broadcast from this, or any other, public service transmitter.
