Freeview reception at YO11 1HX

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

elil: The missing channels are transmitted by the COM7 multiplex on C31 / 554.00 Mhz, this being a much lower powered transmitter radiating at just over 16Kw compared to the other COM's on 50Kw.

The other point being that C31 is aerial wise out of group with all the other channels used by Oxford, and if the aerial installed was, as is most likely, a group C/D type to give maximum reception of these channels (i.e: a C50 - C60 channel span) then this will be inefficient at receiving low frequencies such as C31 resulting in a low signal strength being received which might be under the reception threshold level for your receiver, therefore should this apply then your aerial will require changing to a wideband type.

The way to test if this situation applies or not is to go into your TV's set up menu / tuning, selecting "manual" tune and entering C31 / 554.00 Mhz into the box but NOT followed by pressing search or scan, because if any signal is there to receive its strength / quality will show on the indicator bars. If something is seen make a note of the level then enter C50 (ITV3 etc) into the box and make a note of the levels seen from it compared with C31.

JB38, I originally put this report up to attract the attention of Brian, but he has so far, not commented on it. I'm not sure who is the editor webmaster of this website and therefore decided to inform you of the article I read. It is an official report and therefore, the Erp's of the new com7 multiplex can now be corrected to their actual Erp's as they stand now.

KEVIN GARDINER: I thought I'd sent you an email about this information.

I've got to be careful that I don't upset Digital UK because the information is copyright to them, unless I get the same data though Ofcom, as Ofcom is a public body and hence the information is then in the "public domain".

BRAINTIST. Up till today, I haven't received an e-mail from you about this subject. But I kind of thought that the information in the report may well be copyrighted to DIGITAL UK for the time being , or when Ofcom being a public body, then publish it for public release for general public consumption. And of course, you have to be careful with copyrighted material.
