If you can receive from Wenvoe at your location (and receive the lower power Commercial multiplexes that aren't available from Bargoed) then have an aerial installed for it; that's going to be your only way.

Hi,

Any idea if or when i could get ITV4 in
the Bargoed Transmitter area.

With The Europa league 2012-13 being on itv4,
its my only way of watching the football live.

Any advice would be great.

Mal Norman: See my posting above, made in March. The answer is still no, unless you can receive from a full-Freeview transmitter such as Wenvoe.

Your only other possibility is satellite; Freesat is a popular alternative.

Previously had excellent reception. All channels disappeared on Saturday. Switched recorder and tv off for an hour. Switched back on, retuned both, a few extras channels, BBC3HD now. Fine? No. Now every 15 minutes or so HD channels will freeze or drop out, then come back on. Just recorded. BBC News on BBC1 and BBCHD at the same time. Drop out occurred on the HD but no problem at all on the SD channel. Very annoying as HD is obviously my default option. Any ideas? Site appears to say someengineering work in Bargoed on Saturday but problem still ongoing on Monday.

Thanks

Steve

Steve Lintern: I would guess from your description that your central heating thermostat could be the cause. Can you try operating the thermostat to see if it causes the problem on demand?

Steve Lintern:
The central heating? We've got gas central heating. Would that affect the tv? It's been fine for the past year. It's been raining for a while but would that just affect HD channels?

My next test will be to compare the TV's HD channel picture to the recorder's. I'll watch BBCHD through the TV and record the same channel through the recorder's tuner. If no disturbance on the live feed and some drop outs on the recorded picture then I'll isolate the problem to the recorder.

Seems a coincidence that Bargoed had engineering work just when the problem started. Is my problem indicative of this new 4G issue?

Thanks

Steve
