phil: The owners of the COM muxes decided that it simply was not cost effective to extend coverage beyond the original Freeview sites. To serve all the relays would more than double the cost of provision whilst adding a small percentage of extra viewers, many of whom could receive the signals direct from a main station or via satellite if they require the extra channels.Have you tried receiving the Moel Y Parc transmitter which offers a full freeview service?

My aerial is mounted high on a pole on the roof and has a mast head amp fitted. It is aligned to Moel y Parc transmitter. In the winter reception is good but in the summer it is poor when it is windy. As we are surrounded by trees I suspect this is the problem when they are in leaf. It is impractical to cut them all down for 10 miles or so but will cutting ones close to the aerial improve things? If so, how close do I need to consider a problem.

Dave White: Aside from tree felling, you probably have two options. The first is to mount the aerial up higher than the trees.

The second, if you have a good view to the south, is to use Freesat. See All about Freesat | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

john JONES:

Only if you are receiving your signals from Meol y Parc. The Llanarmon transmitter is a Freeview Light service that only includes PSBs 1, 2 and 3. None of the commercial broadcasters offer any service from that transmitter.

Thank you Mike. I am tuned in to Moel y Parc. I am getting Made in North Wales spasmodically but I cannot identify which Mux it is on as I cannot find it listed anywhere! Help please.
