How come my mates in Bridgend get more channels than here in Llandod? I was down there the other day and they've got loads more channels such as Dave and Dave Ja Vu - surely that isn't fair - we pay the same amount of TV Licence. :(

Paul: This is a public service transmitter.

The commercial operators declined to operate from this transmitter as they regard it as unprofitable.

The TV Licence only pays for BBC services, and you have access to all of these.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Like many others,we only receive the regular 5 Channels plus BBC 3 & 4, Freeview Channels 6, 13, 14, 70, 71,& 80; this is due to us being beamed to the Repeater Transmitter on the hill overlooking Llandod,(as i am advised).
Looking to secure more Channels (hopefully) via Satellite(not Sky though)-Freesat.

Is anyone else able to pick up the transmissions on C45 (the HD stuff)? My Freeview HD set reckons "no signal".

@briantist It's an LG M227WDP (22" Full HD 1920x1080) which I suspected had a Freeview HD tuner (it recognises normal broadcasts as "SD" and according to the manual will show whether the broadcast signal is 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p or 1080i/p) but perhaps it doesn't have a HD tuner after all :(

@briantist Thanks for your response though, greatly appreciated, and the site is very useful for seeing what channels are used for what (I still use 5 analogue channels for DVD, Sky box, Humax HDR, etc. so it's good to know where to avoid!).

Martin: You should really switch to using HDMI (or SCART) if you want good pictures though!

Martin: I've had a look at LG M227WDP Monitors - 22" TV Monitor - LG Electronics UK and the set is "HD Ready" so you will need to get a Freeview HD box to watch Freeview HD, the built in tuner can't receive the service.
