steve: "WREXHAM-RHOS" is the official name for the transmitter. Ofcom use it, the BBC use it, Arqiva use it.

john phillips: Fenton does transmit the COM muxes on C22+, C25 and C28 at 1kW. There is more likely to be conflict though between transmissions from Moel Y Parc and Sutton Coldfield on C42 and C45. Sutton Coldfield transmits at 200kW. Both Fenton and Sutton Coldfield completed DSO stage 2 on 21st September 2011.

Hello, We previously had free view from the winter hill transmitter. However the tuner within the tv broke and we had to go without for a few weeks. When we purchased a new set, the signal is via the Wrexham rhos transmitter ( we live in Wrexham) but it is incredibly poor. In fact it worked temporarily for a day and then has been on the blink since. The tv is fine as we have tested it elsewhere. So, 2 questions please. A) is there a way to manually tune to winter hill and b) has there been issues with the Wrexham rhos transmitter as I noted the work being done today? In terms of antenna, we have a variable gain masthead amplifier which has served us well in the past. Many thanks for any help

RobJ: As above, the transmitter was off-air from 10:06 yesterday to 13:36 yesterday. I would suggest you retune your box.

with regards to wrexham rhos transmitter, what is going on, dose any one know ?? all problems started dso wreking on 28/9/11 up to that date no problems after that, problems the fix so we are told,is a single lead no combiners etc yes this is possible, but nowdays most have more than one television, and want more than a dozen chanels, which is all we get from wrexham rhos,so 2 arieals norh west/welsh combined in distribution then fed to respective rooms, its been like this for years up until the dso on the 28/9/11 how do we tell customers that we have dealt with for years that the system they have is defunct, its mad, whatever was done at the dso needs to be re looked and not blamed on conbiners/amps an so on,the more complaints the bbc get perhaps something will get done, and belive me iv tryd good luck
