I also receive from penyard relay transmitter and i'm also very angry that we can only get a fraction of the available channels. my parents at great expence upgraded their aerial etc to pick up from wenvoe and received nearly all channels available until the retune this month and now they can only receive the same channels as we get from penyard. how strange, i smell a rat don't you.

stuart: You have not provided a postcode, so I can't really say, but don't get upset, the commercial operators did not regard this transmitter as profitable to operate from because the costs of transmission would be large compared to the number of viewers.

Hi Briantist, my parents post code is Merthyr cf47 otl and they have been receiving all free view channels for approx. Three years even when Wenvoe was transmitting at half power. When switch over occurred in 2010 they lost film four, then later on they lost the Yesterday channel. They are using two separate aerial setups for two TVs, both setups have 12db to 15db wideband aerials and 22db mast amps. They have no video rec, skybox or games consoles attached, also neighbours with similar setups have lost the same channels and its only since the retune this month.com 4,5 and 6 have vanished, can you help

Stuart: The problem is that the final channel allocations for Wenvoe COM multiplexes clash with the allocations for the PSB multiplexes at Trefechan. The change to the final channels for SDN and ArqA multiplexes happened on the 27th of April. The ArqB multiplex moved at switchover at the end of March 2010.

You could see how well it works without the amplifiers first. The COM multiplexes are now in adjacent channels to the PSB multiplexes, and if the signal levels are too high it causes intermodulation, which causes errors in other channels but the worst errors occur in adjacent channels.

Otherwise, there's really nothing you can do without spending a lot of money on an antenna array that rejects more signal from Trefechan, or getting a satellite subscription. Freesat doesn't carry many of the channels carried by the Freeview COM multiplexes.
