I notice that in Wales mux PSB2 (D3&4) carries S4C instead of E4. That displaces E4 on to a commercial mux which the 3-mux relays don't carry.

In Wales, why not put E4 on PSB2 (D3&4) and dispense with Channel 4+1? Fairs fair, I say; if they want an extra Welsh-only channel S4C, which the rest of the UK doesn't have, put it in place of Channel 4+1 which the people forced to use 3-mux relays can manage without.

Throughout Wales, put Channel 4+1 (South ads) on the Wales variant of the SDN mux.

Would an aerial amplifier boost the current weak Wenvoe signal enough to receive the full range of Freeview channels for Merthyr Road, Pontypridd, CF37 4DG?

At the moment only the Pontypridd Common transmitter offers a strong Freeview signal with the unfortunate limited channel choice.

Christopher: You really need a professional installer to answer the question.

However, I will make some observations:

- The three storey block on the opposite side may be an issue.

- This plot shows that you're at the bottom of a drop which is blocking your line of sight of Wenvoe (as well as other terrain that is in the way):

Terrain between ( m a.g.l.) and (antenna m a.g.l.) - Optimising UK DTT Freeview and Radio aerial location

If any booster/amplifier is to aid your reception of the Commercial channels from Wenvoe, then it needs professionally fitting on the roof.

Christopher,Pontypridd. It is possible but probably unlikely you will be able to amplify the weak Wenvoe signal you mentioned in your earlier post !
