Geraint Hopkins:

The BBC had reported a fault -
Whilst the BBC have reported fault details on their individual transmitter page, they have not (yet?) added it to a page which is an engineering list of Freeview faults which is where the updates to this site come from.

From 1:02:14am to 2:24:23pm on 27th Nov 2021 BBC A / BBCB HD Off the air due to a fault.

There is another very low power relay transmitter close by (which you are predicted to get poor signals from) which you may be receiving off the back of your aerial if you initially retuned when you had no signal. It's never advised to retune when you have no signal if you were correctly tuned to start with.

The fault was most likely due to a power outage, which if I've understood the BBC site and Western Power Distribution sites correctly, power should be restored.

If your signals are not back to normal and you previously retuned, try a further retune.

The reception on all channels from the Clyro since the ARWEN storm has been appalling with vision continuing breaking up and disappearing.

Eric Pugh:

Please read my post just before yours (to Geraint Hopkins) about retuning.
The BBC aren't reporting any current faults for Clyro.
It may be an idea to look up at your aerial and check it looks intact and is still pointing in the correct direction and the downlead is not flapping in the wind.

27 November 2022. Very poor signal from the Clyro transmitter these past few days (Llanigon). The signal seems to deteriorate as the evening progresses. All stations were too poor to watch this evening with the picture pixelating followed by a black screen and a no signal message. I've retuned the tv a couple of times without any improvement and have now lost ITV completely!

Nick Lloyd:

There don't appear to have been any reported faults for the transmitter in the last 5 days, and it's not been listed for Planned Engineering recently.

You're probably around 3km from the transmitter and should be getting a very good signal. The aerial should be pointing at around compass bearing 351 degrees - that's 9 degrees W of due N, and it's rods (or squashed Xs) should be vertical. Check that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing in the correct direction, also check the downlead is secure and not flapping in the wind.
How old is your aerial installation?

Check all the connections behind your TV etc. Have you changed/moved anything recently?
Retuning when you've got pixellated pictures or no signal, when you've been correctly tuned, is never a good idea. Most times it'll just clear your correct tuning, and you end up having to retune again when your signals improve and you might not know when that is and have to try several times.

Have you had a postcard from restoretv.uk at all? Any new mobile phone masts nearby?
