Johnpaul: Just had a look at the mast, visible from where I live, can't see any lights on up there.
Must be power up there as the Orange & other phone networks etc. are on.
Televison signal went off and on a couple of times last night.

Hi Johnpaul:
A lot of neighbours and family have been in touch with me
about this today, as they only have the Freeview signal from the Rhymney TX
no Freesat or Sky etc.
There are a lot of Relay TXs down today!!
Look at the right-hand side bar on this page.
I can see the mast from where I am but cannot see any signs of life up there.
Normally when they are working up there they have lights on etc.
All the very best.
Gerald

Johnpaul: If your satellite receiver is fed directly from the dish then the problem is most likely caused by the dish having been blown out of alignment, therefore go into your boxes signal check screen and see if anything is being indicated on the strength / quality bars.

By the way, if you are using a standard Sky box or a white Sky+ box press: Services - 4 - 6.

If using one of the later Sky+ HD boxes the procedure is slightly different.

Press "Services" on your Sky remote control and you will see the main menu
with "Options" being highlighted.

2:- Select the "Settings" menu using the right arrow button and press
select.

3:- Use the left / right arrows to scroll to "Signal" and press select, the
grey bars displayed will show you the strength of the signal being
received.

Should anything be indicated then the strength / quality levels of that
seen have to be around 50% minimum to produce a picture, this especially so
where the quality is concerned which should never be lower than the
strength, because if it is then this points to the dish being slightly out
of alignment.

Will the Rhymney transmitter ever carry more channels ? Seems unfair that most of the country have greater amount, I was in Sommerset a few weeks ago and could not believe the channel difference.
