The transmitter network is operated by Arqiva. On its contact page there is a link to click if you have problems with reception:
Contact Us - Corporate Arqiva
However, this simply provides links and phone numbers for the broadcasters!
As Arqiva is the company responsible for getting the transmitter back on the air, one would assume that it will be best placed to tell you.
Arqiva has a monitoring station at the Emley Moor transmitter, tel 01924 508100. Whilst Buxton is not part of the Emley Moor group, perhaps they can advise.

2 days without any TV or Radio - worse still nobody knows anything about it! Except us with nothing to watch of course. It would be great if we had some news at least.
Despite them saying its back on at 12:41 today...it still isnt

fred davies: The Buxton transmitter is never likely to transmit more than the Public Service channels it currently carries. See here for an explanation:
Londonderry (Northern Ireland) digital TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - 10 years of independent, free digital TV advice
Unless you can receive the Commercial channels (those that don't broadcast from Buxton) from another transmitter, then you won't ever get them. As such, Freesat may be a solution for additional channels.

consistent problems in receiving itv programmes over the last 4 or 5 days but partially resolved after tv is switched on for an hour or hour and a half?????
Post code is SK17 6SW
Do not really want to incur expense of calling out TV engineer as when have done this in the past they always want to "upgrade" aerial.
are engineering works likely to be causing the problems and if so when will they be completed?
What should I do ???
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

The transmitter engineering entry immediately below yours might hold the clue for you. They report that the Buxton transmitter has had periods of no signal over the last few days.
